Were you pre-approved or approved? A lot of these companies put a disclaimer saying pre-approved which allows them to do this to you. If it clearly says you were approved, then you need to take this up with the credit card company and then contact the Better Business Bureau, and threaten that company you will forward your correspondence to the Senate Fiance Committee, as they are investigating at this time these type of circumstances.

You're sure this was legit? Check your bank accounts! If you provided them with personal info especially your SSN#, address, nearest relative (emerg contact names) etc., you could be in for a little bit of fraud activity.

If it wasn't with a big name company, there may very well be something very wrong. Even if it WAS with a big name company (Mastercard, Visa etc) you should still be able to verify everything and have the difference in approval amounts clarified. A 30 second approval? Not likely I'm afraid.

Run, don't walk, and get this checked out...contact your Bank, explain the situation and they should be able to place a watch on your account for activity that is out of the norm for you...something sounds fishy

Good luck, hope I'm wrong
