Good afternoon all web surfers!

I have lived in the US for almost 1 and a half years.
I have had problems to get a job and not earned very much.
My spouse and I stand on the lease for our apartment and it has been paid every month(7 months now).
I have also paid several other bills.
I have got a credit card with a credit limit of $300.
Do I have enough credit history now?
Is my credit still to low to rent an apartment for an example?
Are there anywhere you can check your credit score for fee without signing up for something or paying a fee?
Is it always a bad thing if several companies check your credit?

Please help a legal emigrant!

Do NOT, repeat do NOT, go to www.freecreditreport.com.

It is a come-on, and its only purpose is to sell you overpriced credit monitoring services.

The only official free site run collaboratively by the 3 agencies is www.annualcreditreport.com, the one where you can get reports from all 3 agencies for absolutely nothing, no commitment. The only thing you may have to pay for is to see your FICO score - and that no more than $7.95.

"AnnualCreditReport.com is the only service authorized by Equifax, Experian and TransUnion for this purpose. The three nationwide consumer credit reporting companies have always encouraged consumers to regularly review their credit reports.

Please note that, as a security precaution,

*
Consumers should never provide their personal information to any other company or person for requesting free annual credit reports under the FACT Act.
*
AnnualCreditReport.com will not approach consumers via email, telemarketing or direct mail solicitations."

www.annualcreditreport.com is the ONLY 100% FREE SITE. It was set up becuase the federal government required it.

Also, just so you know, apartments, utilities, cell phones, etc, do not show on your credit report. The only item on there that you listed would be your credit card. You probably have a very limited credit report.

And yes, you dont want a bunch of companies checking your creidt report. Be selective about where you apply instead of applying all over.

Go to www.freecreidtreport.com and they will give it to you for free. I would not let people keep pulling your credit cause it will drop and you dont have much credit at all you may be able to get an apartment but nothing else unless your credit is over 600 but easy ways to build your credit up is to use your credit card for gas but when you charge $20 put $20 in cash a way so when the bill comes you can pay it off quickly. if your credit is over 600 go to the bank and take out a $500 loan and pay it off with in that time what i did was i keep the 500 in my savings and never spent it your creidt will get up there i am 19years old and my credit score is 755 so it worked for me

www.annualcreditreport.com You get one free credit report from each bureau once a year. You do not have to sign up for anything or give them a credit card number unless you want to see your credit score too.

there is always a catch with free credit reports. the only way to get a detailed report is to pay for it.
