I'm thinking about buying a new vehicle in a few months. My credit is good (700+); I have no qualms about a $400 payment for 48 months. This would be my only vehicle payment I'll have in ~six months. Is there an ideal percentage to have as a down payment on a car? You could finance it to death, but you'll be paying for it forever as well. Obviously, 100% (e.g. paying cash) is optimal, but I'm not holding that winning Powerball ticket, either! (ha!). Looking forward to your responses; thanks!

i gave the house that i owned outright to my wife
so that we could divorce without acrimony ,
i have now fallen on really hard times
she will not talk to me and has a new man in her life,
i feel a bit aggrieved as i worked hard to pay for the house,
they are selling up and moving to spain.
is it worth getting legal advise or not?

I have been registered disabled since 2001 my husband is my full time carer, we recieve the normal regular benefits. The mortgage we have was a fixed rate, last year this expired. Would we be able to do anything about it as the rates are now lower than when we took the mortgage out.

Hi, I recently asked a question on here about making late payments. i made the payment online on the 17th, it is due on the 19th. of course it is the weekend. email confirmation said bank will be deibted on the 21st, so im pretty sure i'll be considered late which is basically credit suicide. (all payments on time before). as soon as i can i'll call to find out details BUT...

my question now is, i just got the papers to renew my car insurance. usually i have just paid the 6mos total in advance, and im considering doing that now. my inclination is to charge the $1000+ on my credit card to earn points, and just pay it off right away since i have the money available. OR should i pay it in installments, which looks better?

I'm especially concerned about making such a big charge after making the late payment. to the creditors it may look like im running out of money (late on one card, running up big charge on the other). what do you think?

I have bad credit due to poor decisions in my youth and I am currently filing bankruptcy. All of my credit cards have been charged off. There are two cards that list my former boyfriend's (now husband) name as an authorized user. Those charge offs show up on his credit report. So my question is, how can he have them removed from his report? He was not a co-applicant and should not be held liable for the debt. We were not married at that time either. Please only serious answers and no shamers, I am not proud of my poor choices and I have learned a huge lesson.

I have a credit card account with citibank and haven't paid. A "law' office contacted me saying that payment has to be paid in full and I dont have any payments options. They said that my student loans i have with them too they can turn them into default as of consequence of this debt. I told them to do what they have to do because paying in full is not an option for me now. What can they do about it? is it true about my school loans? can i still make payments to stop this?
They always get loud and offensive like if you were scum.

Or will it show on my credit report as a judgement against me, and it was paid in full? Do you think it will affect my rating, and will future creditors and employers find it to be a negative report?
