My old bank that has been bought out by another bank had reported to Equifax that I owed $$. I disputed it with the old bank but it's still on my report. The new bank says they cannot help me.All I get is the run-around from everyone I've spoken to. If anyone knows how to resolve this PLEASE answer back.

I have read many answers on here to this question and most of them have confused me even more. I see often that the date the '7' year mark starts is actually 180 days prior to the date of last activity and then some one else says it's 7 years from the date of last activity. So say there is an account that the date of last activity was October, 2001 when would this account drop off the credit report?
Also can you legally have 2 seperate lines on your credit report for 1 account (the orig creditor and then a collection agency that was sold the account from the orig creditor)?

Some were reported within days, others have not shown up yet. We have excellent credit, no negative marks. Each has 15 year history, and each has about 20 accounts in that history including old mortgages, auto loans and currently many revolving with what will be about zero balance on about 125k open to buy. The only thing keeping our score down was high utilization. We want to refinance (and pay down) our mortgage due to an upcoming rate shift but wanted to wait to shop around until all paid debts had shown up. Can we call the creditors and ask them to report? Will they do that? Our scores are in the low 700's and I expect a jump when the remaining 75% shows up as being paid. Thanks!

I recently bounced a check to a retail store. The check was put through again and cleared. 2 days ago, I received a letter saying I owed $25 for the NSF fee to the retail place. Today, the collection company put through a false check for the $25. Is this legal?

Cant sell the house, What should I do? How can I save myself? Are there any charities which can buy my home and save me from bankcrupsy? Since I lost my job I have been doing some small jobs which can not meet the required finances. I couldnt get no success so far in any interview which belongs to my field. I have tried everything from distributing morning papers to handing out leaflets. It is being hard day by day.

Everytime I post a link with help to someone's answer... It is considred spam... watch this question will be deleted just by saying this site is great for your answer (" http://www.affiliatetier.com ") - Everyday I post a link in a question, or an answer... the link is always relevant to whatever I am talking about which is usually credit or credit card related, the link I just posted has excellent credit related articles... so why delete this post, which I know yahoo will... YAHOO always deletes it... WHY?? If it is not an advertisement... and the person does not make money or own the web site, or is even affiliated! Why do you delete it???

Once the layaway program is done away with, it will affect the elderly, the children, the general population from all walks of life, it will affect holiday joys, and it will cause the theft to go up.
The layaway program is the an answer to those who don't have the priviledge of credit cards. I am sure Sam Walton is turning in his grave!!!

My credit is on shaky ground as it is. My boyfriend thinks that I should just let it go into collections, but I feel like I should work something out with the creditor. I think he's worried that we won't be able to pay our other bills, like electricity, phone, and car insurence. His credit is worse than mine, so I feel like my idea is better than his. I currently have no income but I'm waiting on a disability claim to come through. I'm totaly broke and I don't know how I can fix this problem.

I have had a cell phone with Rodgers now for maybe almost a year. It is a three year contract. One of those free phones if you sign a 3 year term with us. They have been great up until the past few months. I want out. The service sucks, and i'm not going to get into all the details. Will this hurt my credit if I buy out? Costs $200 to buy out of the contract.
