now there is someting on my credit report and i think it maybe that car that was reposessed. it is the only negative thing on my credit report. i'm not sure yet waiting on the results of the investigation, but if it is what should i do. i'm 22 and looking to buy a home and refiance my car.

I see this a lot in my business. We get credit reports back all the time where the applicant has give us obviously phony data. I love it when a 30 year old couple comes in an gives us a SSN that is less than five years old, and they have a three year old.
Wait for the report and then you need to talk with your mom. She should not have done this (if she did) but she is still your mother. If it was her, call the car place and start to work something out.

If it appears on your credit report, it will show who the loan is with. From that, you send them a letter stating you did not cosign a loan and you want copies of the papers. Then, you immediately notify all the credit bureaus of what you suspect. If someone used your identity to cosing a loan and the car was repossessed, you would have been contacted by the lending institution about making the payments.

You need to wait for the investigation results and in the mean time ask your mom did you steal my indenity? If she did do it you will have to file a police report in order to have it removed off your credit report I know its your mom and you dont want to that but she had no right to do what she did. I went through the same thing with my brother and his wife and I had to file a report. I hope this has helped you goodluck!!!
