Thankfully no. Pulling your own credit report or score doesn't lower your score at all. It's when you request others (lenders, CC companies etc) to do it. Hope that helps :-)
In fact you should pull your own credit reports from all 3 bureaus at the very least, annually (once a year).
I alternate bureaus about every 4 months that way I get all 3 in a year's time. Most of what I'm checking for are things on there, that are not mine or reported incorrectly.
By the way, to correct some of the users on here, there is no way I know of to get a free Credit (FICO) SCORE.
Yes...you can get the annual credit report each year ...thanks to Federal Law.. but it doesn't give you the FICO score (you must pay for that).

No, these are considered soft inquires and do not affect your credit score. http://creditwisdom.blogspot.com/2006/09/fico-breakdown-how-your-credit-score.html at this link you will find information on how your credit score is calculated. You are encouraged to check your credit report regularly to make sure there are no errors or unauthorized activities.

No, it does not. In fact, it's a good idea to get a credit report each year.
However, it may affect your credit if someone else checks your credit.
