I have applied for a job I really want, I did the aptitude test, the medicals, and interviews, now I get a letter saying "they are pleased to inform me that I am on a short list and as soon as a vacancy occurs they will be in touch" should I hold my breath?

I live in a large metropolitan city and I hate it! I've decided to move and I've interviewed and been offered a position with another company in a much smaller state/city.

The pay is comparable; the benefits as well. I was working with a recruiter and he pressured me into giving a decision regarding if I was going to accept the position - I did.

I have an interview scheduled with another company next week - a somewhat larger city - with comparable pay and benefits.

My biggest concern is the first place - where I've accepted - has been wonderful. They're working to find me a place to live and they've been very hospitable.

I don't have the best credit and I'm really worried about finding a place to live in this other city in a reasonable amount of time -without having to pay through the nose.

There's also no guarantee I'll get the other job - but I have a REALLY good chance.

Any suggestions? I'm really confused about what I should do - which job I should take?

i wanna be a model but thats not happening. or like a director or a photographer.

i'm affraid that if i pick something i wont like it later.

i wanna be something good that wont get boring. i have a short attention span (A.D.D. - attention deficit disorder)

i wish i could be like an actor for commercials. that would be cool. but no herpes or pepto bismol. lol

i wanna go to FIT and be a model. but i'm short. and itwill never work out.

i'm gonna get a hair cutting lissence when i'm 17 (for back up)

I want to be an optometrist for my career and i wanted to know what you kneed to know to be one.

like what math classes, and other classes should i take in college.

i know anatomy, how the eye work and information on the skull is important.

Do i need to know I&O's (input and output), how to do height and weight of a person, gait belt, putting a patient in a wheel chair and getting them out, ROM ( range of motion), and changing bandages?

Anything else i should know?

I have a misdemenor that happened about 6 yrs ago for writing a bad check (deposit account fraud) is what they called it I do not have any thing else on m record. I can not get it expunged because I was not informed of pleading "first time offender" so im stuck with it . Im going to school for nursing and will be going into the nursing field upon completion. Do any one know how they go about rating the background check when appling for a nursing job. I mean I did not steal ne thing I was just young and not very wise on writing checks and handlin them if they were to bounce it was 2 checks 1 for 6.00 and 13.00 for the other (I know very crazy on my part). So sometimes u have to pay consequences 4 things like this if you dont research. Any advice I would greatly appreciate it.....

My friend works for a company, where the Assistant General Manager has been trying to get him fired for the longest while, but he cannot fire him, because he has no real grounds. First he accuses him of using company property for personal reasons, this was refuted and found that my brother was not. He has told my friend to not do works that the General Manager assigned him, and we know the motive would be he would have proof that he is disrespectful! Next he accuses him of stealing, and this too was refuted. Now he is accusing him of having sexual relations with another employee on company promises. This is also not true. Is this considered harassment? What can be done about it? There are so many more, but way too much to mention! Desperately seeking some advice!!!

i havent received any kind of response yet.
im about 3 and half months new at this job and i didnt want to get into any kind of trouble by keeping the money so i emailed "the boss" and told him they made a mistake. i get direct deposit so money is automatically deposited into my bank account every 2 weeks. so it isnt a check they can send back.. its already there in my account.
do you think i shouldnt have emailed him and just kept the money?
(it was about $100 more than my usual pay)

i was just curious as to what anyone would do in my situation..
and im a little nervous since i havent had any kind of response yet.
(im hoping they let me keep the money but ill understand if i cant)

ever been in a situation like this?

What are some well-paying jobs? I'm currently a freshmen in undergrad school, but I'm completely willing to go to prof. school. I just have no idea what I want to do with my life. I want a career that is in demand, or is at least attainable if I get high grades. I also want something that has a high salary if I work hard. What are my options? If you're going to say law, what types of law are best to study?

here is the scenerio...i make about $60k/year plus bonus. im an IT guy for a financial/technology consultant firm. business been slow and they have been laying off some consultants and not-essential office staffs(marketing guy and recruiters).

i have been with the company since sept. 2007. im not that busy maybe like couple of hrs of work each day. i support about 60-70 ppl. and i always wanting to work from home. so what do u think if i tell my boss if im willing to take a 10% paycut to work at home one day a week? what do u think he would say?

my boss like to save money and always ask me what we can do to save the company money etc. but he also is a tough boss. he likes to work long hour in the office. he comes in 8:30am and work till sometimes 7 or 8 pm at nite.

so if i ask him this, do u think he will get offended and fire me? or not give me a bonus or a salary raise? what is the worst that can come of this? maybe he thinks im making too much?

I currently work for a resteraunt/bar/grill/club in Florida and am thinking about starting a non-profit program. Besides getting backing from the establishment I wish to do it with, whats the best way to start it up? Start by joining with other established organizations and slowly build? Try to create a new program? Etc. I am thinking about doing something with alcohol, but am open to any ideas.

The managers are going to make an announcement on Monday, that they going to have to let us go.

Because the company is not making any money

I have looked at the contract and there is no mention of time they are allowed to give when they are terminating a contract

One manager told me that I may have 2 weeks as I have been with the company for a year

Could someone advise me?

I work 8-5 M-F. I am a secretary in a garage. I so far today have done my work orders for Monday, cleaned my office, cleaned the bathroom, read the paper, filed and painted my nails, filed my paperwork for the week, done the deposit, played games on POGO, talked to my sister, answered and asked a bunch of questions on here, swept the empty work bays, processed the mail, and there are still 1.5 hours left in my day. What else can I do to fill the time. Winter is a slow time for us but my boss wants me here all day just to answer the phone so it doesn't bug him while he's working. Any suggestions?
