I remember that it was very hard for me to find a job before the age of 18. I actually went to every single store in the mall, and was denied by 99% of them because I was underage. Many people just do not want to deal with all the restrictions. Unless you really need a job, I would recommend volunteering at a hospital. You can work in medical records if you don;t want to be around patients. It will look good on your resume.

Going to quit before you find another job? Is it safe to say you're working part time while going to school? Unfortunately 16 year olds tend to get minimum-wage jobs. Besides food service, you can be a bagger or general flunky in a grocery store. Dallas is a decent sized town, there are many opportunities if you are not too fussy.
