or they usually don't ?

I sent my former teacher a holiday car thinking he still was employed, but I called in just hours after I sent it and the indicated that he longer is with them since October
(2 months ago),
I sent it yesterday, do you honestly think they'll forward a holiday card or send it back to me.

I'm referring to a small community college in a small town, few students and few teachers.

I am 50. The old lifetime student bit. Finally got Ph.D. in history, but for various reasons, the great overflow of Ph.D. in history students, heatlh, and other reasons that occupation is out. Should have been wiser to never pursue.

My question now is where could I go to check out job most suitable for; menial. Have some problems, nerves, and others, but still have above average intelligence, and do not have any great physical handicaps. Incredibly, while getting Ph.D. graduate assistant , adjunct instructed (worse slave labor for salary), have only worked full time one year in whole life.

Where would be best place to go for testing for best possible jobs? Counselors? Employment agencies?

Any thoughts, suggestions appreciated,

working full-time at a place open 24/7, so you want to see all the employees (day/night/weekend shifts, all shifts run from 8-8) at some point every month.

I prefer working 12 hour shifts, that way get half of the month off.

1- What hours would you pick?
2- Would you pick to work the same days every month (with one Sat or something) or rotate your schedule?

yes, a week before Christmas and the manager still expects us to work.

We have refused, we are not picking up the phone, if debtors want to ring, they can, but we are not answering.

At the moment, we are looking online for jobs.

How would you feel in this scenario

I'm filling out job applications...usually you can list 3 or 4 previous employers. I have a choice between an earlier employer that gave me a great performance review and a later one that gave me a so-so one (the manager was a bit nuts). Both of these were 3-6 years ago. Probably neither place remembers me, but I was wondering if they'd still have any records. If they still do I'd prefer to list the earlier job, if not I figure it will look better if I just list my most recent jobs without a gap. BTW, these were entry-level low wage jobs and the app is for a similar job.

I am currently working a part-time, seasonal (Christmas) job at Bath & Body works. While I've loved their products for years and will continue to, I am not enjoying the job as much as I thought I would.
I want to turn in my two-weeks notice this Friday (my next shift), but since it's a seasonal job and I'd be let go anyhow after Christmas (or in early January at the latest) would that even make sense to do? Should I just stick it out till the end of the season? Should I give notice of a different timeframe? I don't know what to do!

Thanks

What do I do if I do not have any references from old supervisors because they have moved on to other companies or the companies are no longer in business? It has been 7-10 years ago.

My husband needs to go to law school! He made perfect 36 on ACT, 1410 on SAT, and is a certifiable MENSA genius. The problem? We cannot afford for him to go to school! He is 26, a restaurant general manager, and the main breadwinner of the home. Where can we go to find financial aid? All of the scholarships and stuff are for high school students, and we cannot afford loans right now (we have three preschoolers). Is there someone that can help? Somewhere we can go that will trade tuition costs for a contract of employment, anything will help! We are desperate. He has so much potential that is being wasted!

I am a recent college grad (graduated June 06) and I have been temping until I found this job about eight months ago. I went to school for office administration and couldnt find a stable job..just temp. I started working at this insurance company as an accounts payable clerk. I did very well and a position opened as an administrative assistant. I aksed if i qualified for the position, they said yes and that it was a promotion and I got the job. I spoke with my supervisor when i was given the job and she said she would make sure i got more money (in exact words) I didn't hear anything as far as a raise for a few weeks and i asked her what was going on with it. she said she would find out and hasent gotten back to me. Its been about a month now. They said it was a promotion and I would like an increase in pay since i am doing four times the amount of work than i did in the previous position. I want the experience but im only making 13/hour and i need more money..when shouldilook

I know that both careers are good, but I just can't decide on one. They both seem equally as a helping career. I would do both but that seems like a lot of time and money invested when I will probably end up only doing one of them anyway. Are there any disadvantages/advantages to one of the careers over the other, do one pay more, have more job availability? I like OT because I would not have to deal with blood, needles, etc. but I like Nursing because it seems like it has more direct care with patients, but it is also more fast-paced and stressful than OT. Feedback would be appreciated-NO STUPID answers.
