I have been working for a bank for a couple of years now, but 8 months ago I started in a different department. I like the company (even though the pay sucks and it won't get much better). However, my boss (who is always watching me because she sits 6 feet away from me) is such a negative person. I feel as if she is bringing me down with her. She has every disease imaginable to the human race. I have had a cough for the past two weeks now. I'm on medicine, but it's just not doing much. I just feel worse knowing that I have to go to work tomorrow. No matter what I do, it's just not enough for her. I don't know why I put so much stock in this pitiful job of mine. By no means is this a career, but I live in a little butt-hole town with not alot of opportunity. My husband loves it here and really doesn't want to move. I feel so stuck. Any thoughts?

i would love to be a nurse, really a doctor, but i think that would involve to much work and take too much time. I really would not like to see very deeps wounds or give stitches, thats my only problem. But i love learning about medicine and all that stuff. i love the medical atmosphere. Would there be alot of gore and nasty stuff in training to be a pediatric nurse in college? I really would just like to be a family doctor or nurse that you see when your a little sick or need a check up. Would a pediatric nurse be the right job for me? if not is there a particular kind of nursing i should try, that doesnt involve too much gore. ? and if you know the average salary for that, that would be great too. thanks!
by the way im in 10th grade so i dont know too much about this stuff.

I am a 27 year old male. I have been working full time for a nonprofit making $33k a year. I am also half way to getting my bachelors. During the past couple of years I have been going part time to school which has worked out ok. I am getting to the point now where it is becoming more and more difficult to get classes that work with my schedule. So I am considering quitting my job at the end of this year so I can give my all to finishing school. Financially, I have $30k in savings, my billls are very low. . I also make a few hundred bucks a month selling on ebay on the side which pays my bills and allows me to not use any of my savings, I don't pay rent cause I do snow removal and grass cutting for my building. My job would not allow me to go to part time. I am a very smart person but in the past have made some bad choices when it comes to school work etc. I am going for a degree in finance & accounting. What should I do?

I'm going to graduate a year early (hopefully),but I don't want to go to college. What is a good paying long term job that I could get, that would eventually allow me to buy a house and have a family and allow me to be financially stable.

For example, If I was getting a surgical removal of xyz, who would be able to see that information? Would the HR manager that I know, and see frequently automatically have to know that information? I would think that that would be a little embarassing.

So, I'm a guy thinking of shaving his head to raise money for cancer research. I think this is a good cause, but have a few questions about it that I'm hoping someone can answer.

I am a bit apprehensive about how an employer would react to this. Would an employer have an objection to an employee doing this? I would imagine that since it is for charity an employer would not have a problem. Plus, it could be good PR for them. Has anyone experience any problems with their employer on this issue? If so, how did you deal with that issue? What was the end result? For those of you who did this, how were the reactions in the office afterwards?

Thanks for your help.

I was walking through a common area about three months ago and I saw a "Ran out of...." board in the kitchen. It listed a product and underneath it, it said "mexicans". I was offended and took it to the company's HR director and they said that the person had been dealt with. About three weeks ago, I witnessed a fight between our security person and a vendor. After separating them, I had asked the security person to give me his side of the event. He told me everything that happened but left out the part that he struck the person and I called him on it. I saw that he had struck the person and I wasn't going to lie about it, especially since the police were called. I told him that I would not alter the incident report. He then said, "Well, you're going to write whatever you want because you'll protect him (the vendor) because you're MEXICAN just like he is." I was shocked that this had happened a second time and reported him. He was fired. I applied for a different position.

I work in a fast food type restaurant, which isn't a McDonalds or anything, and my manager/owner records all of our movements and conversations that go on without our knowledge or consent. None of the employees even knew that he had microphones until one of them overheard the manager listening to two other employees talking about the manager. The cameras themselves are in plain view, but there is no visible microphone attached to them, nor is there any that are in plain sight, so my question is it it legal for him to record us audioly and visualy without us knowing hes doing it?

I have an associates in exercise science but I don't know if I want to stay a personal trainer the rest of my life. I just wanted to know some other avenues I could go in a job that would pay enough to support a family. It doesn't necessarily have to be related to exercise.

I was employed by a local restaurant as a second job and was recently terminated after not working Thanksgiving. On my application I stated I was only available to work on Sat and Sun from 6am to 5 pm. I went to work on the Sat following Thanksgiving to find that I had been terminated for not coming in. I told the manager the Sunday prior that I had to work my full time job. Is it legal to terminate due to this? When I was hired they agreed to me working only those hours.

I am posting this question on behalf of a collegue.

Ok so, I've recently started work in McDonalds, and recieve pay every 2 weeks via Bank Giro Credit. I was paid twice fine, no problems, but my last pay was never put into my bank account.

I asked my boss about it, but she said its a problem with my bank account. She said that there is nothing she can do.

Is this correct? Is there anything I can do to pursuade her to actually check and to stop being so tight with her money? Am I looking at a legal case?

I applied for a job both at a restaurant and then a retail clothing store on the same day. I was scheduled for a "group interview" at the retail store for Sunday, but received a call for the higher paying restaurant position Saturday. Should I, out of courtesy attend this interview at the retail store and tell them I was hired for a different job? If so, how would I go about telling them this?

My boyfriend got hired in seasonally for Walmart in electronics. Then he got hired in for part time.

We talked about moving in together in about a year. This comming june he was going to go get a CDL license (trucking license). Now he says he wants to forget that and keep working at Walmart!

Truckers make 20.00 and hour starting out! I don't get it? It's something he said he really wanted to do, also something I encouraged him to do. He wants me to stay at home after I have kids in the future. How can we make enough money if I don't work and only he does on 7 an hour???

He also hates school... so any schooling is probably out of the question.

Also he loves fixing computers.. he's really good at it but had no training. So any careers that he could make alot doing that?? With no schooling??? What would they be???
