Wow; this is a good one... 8 yrs is a long time. Consider the vacation time that you've accumulated. Are you 100% sure that it is as far as you can go in the company? Happiness is very important. Don't jump ship. Consider also your health benefits, and any other benefits that your company offerers. And whatever you do.... don't quit this job until you have another one lined up. Good luck

If that is the way you feel now, then leave before you are fired!
If you continue working there with that state of mind, you will soon consciously or unconsciously do domething stupid that will cause you to be fired, and that is worse than leaving on your own self determinism and keeping your pride!
But it would also be stupid to leave unless you already have better plans in place of what you will do after you leave.
If you don't have something do do after leaving that is much better than this one, you better stick with it and find out what you are doing to that company that is not good. An then start doing the right things again and you will start felling better about your job.
If that is not the case, and your intergrity with the company is good, then maybe you just need a very long vacation! hope that helps.

If you're not happy, you're not happy. And that is never going to change in regards to your feelings towards you job. Once you feel like you have run your course at a certain job, that isn't going to change. Your best bet is to start looking for a job or career that you have a passion for, so that you can start looking towards retirement, not just a job after that, and so on and so forth. Find another job or career, then once you become employed there, put in you two weeks. Hope it helps. Happy job or career hunting, and happy holidays!

If you know you can't move up anymore and you would like to, you have hit a dead end. That is when it is time to leave.
Make sure that you leave on good terms and put in your two weeks notice. Investing 8 years in a place should be good for a decent job reference.

If you find a better job. Don't leave just because you hate it there... just make sure you have a back up plan. It might just be the people you work with or what you do that your fusturated with. Start looking for a new job with higher pay and you will be satisfied :D

I know how you feel-maybe. I am sick of the BS at my job but I need to refinance my home so I stay with it because it looks better on paper if I do. If you stay with a job for 8 years you look like a very stable individual when it comes to finacial stuff. but if you do not need that then -CHANGE-It brings growth and growth brings a sense of "newness" even if it's the same line of work- I hear my co-workers saying "it's the same BS everywhere -but at least It's new people with old BS-at least there is something "NEW"!!!

When you win the Lottery
When you get your pink slip
When everyone else in the company is at least 30 years younger than you.

There's no point in working at a job you don't enjoy.
You only have one life. Make the most of it.
