The U.S. Department of Labor Bureau of Labor Statistics Occupationa Outlook Handbook has exactly the sort of information you are looking for. You type in the job title, and they list information such as the scope of the job, working conditions, salary information, and educational requirements..

I'm currently in my last year of business admintration - accounting in college, 3 year course. If I stopped with this diploma, I could get a pretty boring data entry or Accounts Payable/Recievable type job that would pay between $30,000 - $50,000 a year.

If I go on to university for my BComm, the pay would probably start at $50,000. (Or you can do this without the college... but for me, most of my college courses transfer and I will have my degree in a much shorter period of time.)

If I get my Masters degree or a professional accounting designation after that, the pay would jump a hell of a lot. Not at first most likely, but shortly after you would be near the $100,000 mark.

I don't know a lot about therapists, but I can't see them making more than $50,000 a year. There also isn't room for much advancement. As an accountant you have a chance to move up the corporate ladder and become as high as a CEO or CFO.
