I am trying to get into a job, and was notified by the employer I am seeking,That they can not find proof that I took my GED.That they called even the department of education in the state were I said I have taken the test and they have no documents to support it.
I had called the Department of institute in the state that i had took it from and explained to them I needed to obtain a copy of my GED certificate that I had took 10years ago. They told me there was no verification that I took such test. I know have to tell the employee with even my attempt I can not even obtain any proof. I know I took my test and I had lost it a long time ago. but, now I dont know what to tell the employer as far as What other options can I take to start the job, with suggesting I can take a test here in the state that I am in now. "but without sounding to the employer that I had never had a GED before" like I said I know I took it but now there is no proof, so what I DO ? HELP!

I was fired from my last job about three months ago, haven't found another one yet. My last boss wasn't exactly the best person to work with. Some of the things he did include:
-Humiliate me in front of the staff and vendors
-Threatened to demote me if I ever called in sick
-Ordered me to violate the company's safety policy (BTW he was also Safety Coordinator)
-Lied to me on a daily basis
-Do random cleanings of my desk, in which he threw out projects I was working on (One of the reasons I was told I was being fired is because projects wern't being finished)
-Refused to listen to me when I told him I was having trouble with some aspects of my job
-Would refuse to answer my questions and when I proceeded to do things on my own, he would tell me I was wrong
-Constantly called me a failure

I see other people say "put a positive twist on your firing", but how can you do that when there is no positive to all of what I just said?

Ok well my new job that I'm working at is also my first job. I have been scheduled to work 47 hours in the next week and three days, but I am a high school student and I'm and just being trained. This is my very first week at any kind of job and they are making me work 47 hours...I talked to some of my friends and the hours that are given to high school students at their jobs are 15-30 hours, and 30 and up is usually given to full time employees.
When I applied for this job I said I wanted to work part time on the application, and I really don't think its fair that they are giving 47 hours while I am training.
Do I have a right to complain? Or would they be mad and fire me?

I went on an interview today, I felt as if it when great, I was introduced to everyone, given a tour of the of the office the whole nine yards. The interviewer seemed intrigued with our conversation. We wrapped things up and I was escorted to the door made some more small talk shook hands, but the closing comment was, " We just put the ad in the paper, we would like to let it run its full cycle, so you will probably hear something after that." What in the world was that, it really threw a curveball at me?? I thought things went great?

Hello, I'm 16 and I just started working at a fast food restaurant, and I absolutely dislike it. I have worked four shifts, and have another one tomorrow, and two days after. My aunt got me the job, so it's not like I earned my position. I am a garnisher, which is serving customers with what they would like on their food. Supposedly in a month or so, I should be trained for cashier and grill. I do NOT want to do this. When I have a workshift, I complain that I don't want to go so many times that sometimes I'm convinced I'm not going! My parents both told me to give it a try, and my aunt told me that if at any time it's not for me, then to tell her. I don't think I have what it takes to tell her, because my aunt and my manager think I'm doing such a good job, but I actually hate it. I wanted to use this job as a reference for work experience as it was my first job, but will they give me a bad rep? I was thinking of having my mom explain it to my aunt.. what do you think I should say/do?

I am a freshmen at California State University Fullerton and am a computer science major. In school they tell us the job market is great and company's are constantly looking for people to fill there tech positions. I have heard elsewhere though that the job market is flooded with people with computer science degrees and is very hard to find a good job. Could someone with some related experience give me some insight as to what it is like finding a job with a computer science degree?

I started my job 2 months ago and it's A LOT to learn. Sometimes I feel like my coworker/boss gets annoyed that I ask a lot of questions, however, when I don't ask questions and make a minor mistake, they get upset that I didn't ask. At 2 months, is it generally acceptable for new employees to be asking questions? I have a ton to learn and lots of responsibilities.

I went in for an interview today for an office manager position. The owner of the company asked the typical, tell me about your background and family questions, and I was certain I had the job in the bag. He put me to work 20 minutes after I got there. Three hours later, he comes in the office, and tells me that there's another person they're considering. He said that I was more experienced with the system they're using, and I have the know how, but she's older. (I'm 27) He also said he's concerned about the fact that my husband will be deployed overseas, and if he dies I may want to go back home.
He asked that I call in the morning and set up an interview with his wife, so she can decide if I get the job.
My question is, should either of these factors determine if I get the job? I'm thinking not. I feel like I'm being discriminated against because of my age and my husbands job. If it is discrimination, is it worth trying to do anything about it?

I quit my job because it was so hard for me to make my quota. During training it was made perfectly clear that there was no quota only "expectations". (A subtle hint for me to get out of there which I obviously didn't get)

During training it was also made clear that the payment plan was your first two weeks you get paid $10 an hour versus 2% commission. If you did well with commission you get paid that and if you didn't you get your $10 an hour.

After your two weeks you have three choices of $10 an hour-no commission, $7 an hour plus 2% commission, or 5% commission all the way.

I quit after working a week and a half and noticed the rate on my paycheck was $7.15. I signed papers saying my pay was $10 vs. 2%. Can they do this?

This also happened to a co-worker of mine as we started at the same time, however she was fired after 2 weeks for not making her quota and her pay rate was only $7.15 as well.

Can they get away with this?

WHAT SHOULD I DO ??

My boss is one of those people who loves to talk about herself. She never really asks how anyone else is doing, but loves to talk about herself. But that's not my problem. My problem is that I don't think she has any respect for me. My biggest clue to this is that she never listens to me (if I ask her a question, she often simply doesn't answer. Not in a blatantly rude way, but as though she just isn't paying attention to me at all). Or, even worse, if I am talking to her along with a co-worker, she NEVER looks at me. She only looks at my co-worker. It's like I'm not even in the room-- it's that bad. My co-worker often comes to work late, has called in sick without reason, and just recently started her job (around the same time I did). Arguably, her job is more necessary than mine. The company needs her more than they need me. But don't I deserve at least a little respect? I'm a naturally quiet person- is this my problem? Is that why people walk all over me? What should I do?
