There is a big difference pay wise...if I work for 20 hours at McDonalds, I would make the same amount as I would working 15 hours at the restaurant.

I would say washing dishes at a restaurant. I used to be a server and sometimes I would get pissed off at customers and go in the back kitchen and chat with the guy who cleaned dishes. He was tuning out to some music and didn't give a shi* and was just doing his job. He didn't have anybody watching over him so I would do that.

Dishwasher at a restaurant can be quite physically demanding, just fyi. They have to be able to lift all of those heavy pans to wash and such. Both jobs sound like there is quite a bit of standing (which can be very hard on the spine) but the dishwasher is most likely more strenuous while mcdonalds is more customer-oriented as others have pointed out.

the two are the two depressing i'm a diswasher and my interest sucks I wash dishes via hand (some places have machines) i gets a commission $7 an hour(a methods under paid) The exertions is annoying artwork plus on precise of this there isnt an AC interior the kitchen (purely for the purchasers interior the front) I cope with warm water bleach and cleansing soap. ( my palms look like crap) and that they have got me doin different issues no longer purely washing dishes. jointly with removing the garbage, cleansing, putting issues away, moping, sweeping, getting ice, tying jointly boxes. Ive been there exceedingly much a 300 and sixty 5 days. Its annoying artwork on the physique and is amazingly quickly paced. I evaluate it to be annoying exertions (yet there are a methods worse jobs available) And regrettably i'm getting no scientific assurance or paid holiday. Getting a job early is important. reward to being a dishwasher you get loose nutrients and the nutrients arent junk nutrients jointly with mc d's. you will become bored of eatting burgers conventional. So I heard when you artwork at mcd's you wont prefer to work out a burger ever lower back . So i could say your perfect wager is micky D's even however its embarrassing to assert you turn burgers...yet sturdy success i'm hoping you get employed.

It all depends on how ambitious you are and whether or not you enjoy working with other people....

As a dishwasher, you will certainly be getting your hands dirty and kept busy doing menial tasks, but your brain can zone out a bit......

At McDonalds you will probably have more responisbility and people contact and more than likely receive a reference you can use to step up in the industry...... and better all-round experience, ie. handling cash, food, etc.

Is there a big difference in what they are offering pay-wise?

It depends on your personality. If you are a highly sociable person, McDonald's is the place especially if you are working cash. If you can handle a more quiet atmosphere, then dishwashing is the way to go. I have done the "coffee serving" thing and dishwashing. Dishwashing was my preference. The chefs cooked anything I wanted (most was free).

It depends on the kind of supervisor/boss/etc. you have, I've been dishwashing most of my work life, my recent job is a cheap greek family owned-everything in the kitchen is cheap, & old & needs replacement! & the owners are jerks- before I could get a "system" down, they fire me after 3 days cause I was slow! so they could hire a relative, (lol) then he got fired for stealing food, so they asked me to come back!-(lmao)-but I was desperate-.(as soon as another job comes up, I'm out of there!) but I worked at Burger King as a teen & hated it!!-so I'd rather wash dishes with good bosses, etc.

Washing dishes is heavy work and boring, but I am sure you would be able to move up to a better position as soon as you prove yourself! I say take the dishwasher position because of the higher pay and future possibilities.

Depends on where you want to go in life. Either is a good start for a food service career but if you see yourself in an industry other than food, McDonald's is the best choice.
