- Don't ask for time off, I just send people e-mail that I am taking a couple of days off.
- Keep my head phones on at work, listening to music on my iPod, ignoring the world around me..
- Invite the CEO (also a retired four star USAF General) to my myspace account, so he can keep-up to whatever I am doing.
- Don't help my co-workers
- Say nasty things about the corporation I work for in a Blog on mysapce, I'll use my real name.
- Call people on the weekend for work related issues
- Kiss people's behinds, fake smiles.

I'm thinking of applying for jobs out of state with my degree, a history degree. Places like Colorado, Missouri, heck even Montana, because I want to use my degree. I mean I earned the degree so I want to do something with it.

I live in Texas also and am trying not to get too far away from where my family lives. But I'm open to moving far away if that can get me a job in my field.

What do you all suggest?

I applied at Target, and was offered the position of Floor Sales/Fitting Room at $7.50 an hour, granted I pass the drug test. I passed the drug test, and received a voicemail from Target saying that my orientation was this week. My car's inspection expired today, and I found out that my wheel axel is broken, so I have to get that fixed this week in addition to passing my car's inspection. I called Target, and told them that I wouldn't be able to make it to orientation, but got this groan and attitude, before being told the next one is on the 7th. I don't even technically work there yet, and they're giving me an attitude about being polite enough to inform them that I wouldn't be able to make the date that they so rudely scheduled for me without asking. I don't need the job, and have already applied at some other places in search of a better salary. Should I just tell them to stick their job where the sun don't shine?

I'm in my second year of college (18 y/o female in New York), and am looking for a job to take up some of my extra time. I'm currently in a Liberal Arts program, while I complete the prerequisites to the Nursing (RN) program at school. If everything goes well and as planned, I'll be in the Nursing program next Fall (2008). I could easily get a job at Target, but they offered me a job at $7.50 an hour, which although is convenient, is not appealing to me. I've also applied at an OB/GYN office as a part time receptionist, and am waiting for a response. I need a job with a part time schedule, because I'm going to be over my head in classwork this semester. What part time jobs do you suggest for a future nurse?

My co-worker or I are being considered for a promotion. He is a very likeable guy but he is unorganized. His lack of organizational skills already are a detrement to our office. He does a good job, but he is ineffecient which causes a lot of overtime. I feel that he has a lot to work on before he should be considered. He has been there 6 months longer than me. While interviewing I would like to somehow show that I do not lack in these areas without putting him down. How can I prove myself in the interview. If he is promoted his position can easily be filled from within the office. Whereas there is no one to replace me because I work in a specialty department, and there is no one that has any experience in my area. I also have 14 years experience in the same field as my co-worker. I would appreciate if people with upper management experience would reply.

Okay, basically, I work in an office, posting apartment ads online on sites such as craigslist.org for an apartment management company, basically what you'd see in the newspaper but with a lot more detail, pictures, etc. And I post a lot of ads a day, around 40 or 50. But, for the life of me, I can't think of a good job title. I'm going along the lines of 'Online Advertisement ______' but I can't find a word for that blank that fits. Poster sounds dull and Specialist is a bit much, as my job really isn't that hard or complicated. I'm updating my resume, but I'm stuck here. Job duties are easy to describe, but the title is whats giving me trouble. Any ideas would be great. Remember, I want it to sound good, but not over-glorify the position and make it seem like my job is more important than it is. Thanks for the help!

P.S. And yes, I've tried a thesaurus with no luck lol.

I am an immigration legal assistant, and I am looking for a better position. Would it be okay to e-mail my resume to law firms that haven't posted employment ads? Would this be considered unproffesional? Should I even attempt this?

Any help would be good!

So, I've been working in subway restaurant for about a year (part-time). I don't really like the job there, that's why I'm planning to apply working at Safeway. However, on the safeway's application form, it asks me about my previous working experience.

Should I tell them that I am currently employed? If yes, they might ask me to give them the Subway's manager phone number and ask about my performance at subway. The thing is I am afraid that he will not give good comments about me. Also, he might not like it if he knows that I am applying for a new job (keep in mind that I will quit the job if i get the job at safeway).

What do you guys think I should do?
