I have two felony convictions from Arizona in 1998 and 2003 and unfortunately Arizona wont allow you to get your record expunged. Since then I have completely changed my life around. I decided to go back to school and earned an Associates Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Information Systems (graduated with honors), got engaged, and am ready to start a new life.

I am willing to start at the bottom and work my way up with hard work and dedication. What would be a good field to get into that doesn't do extensive background checks, and or would be willing to overlook mistakes made in the past?

Do you believe people are worthy of a second chance?

I want to be professional but still trendy since it's the fashion business. And I dont own any good black pants right now so those are out of the quesiton. ANY suggestions PLEASE?

I have been at the law firm I work at for 17 months now. I work there as a paralegal for the senior partner. I am also the financial manager for the office, which is why I have this problem - I know first-hand that the firm is going broke. I don't know how much longer they can afford to keep paying me...
I really love my job, the people I work with, and my boss - I don't want to work anywhere else, but payday is Wednesday, and I might not get any money.

There is also the possibility that they can save this, but I don't see how. I just don't want to quit if I don't have to.

What would you do? What should I do?

I'm doing an essay and any details would be great. Like the specific job, name of company and place, duties, starting salary and ending salary, hours, and difficulties would be very helpful.

I am weighing my schooling options here (both have equal amount of insane debt):

Which do office professionals prefer for receptionist/switchboard/office secretary/registrar/data entry professions?

Office Assistant Diploma (one year program)
Administrative Assistant Degree (2 year program)
Office Assistant Diploma(one year program) + Human Resources Certificate (1 semester of 8 courses)

I'm a Psychology major that is looking to get into either management consulting or I/O Psychology. Is there a difference between the two? Personal tips, experience, etc. are very helpful! Unfortunarely, I do not have any experience in this field yet. Does my Psychology degree give me a good chance at landing a job in a consulting firm? What else is needed in order to prepare for such a career? Thanks!

I currently work as a land buyer (residential) in the uk and am considering moving to Australia. I have done some research about transfering my experience across, but wondered if anyone had done/or knows of someone that has done a similar thing and could adivse me on anything from best companies/recruitment co. to use to the pitfalls and things to avoid. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated. Kind regards JB

We are a company that does international sales. Our offices are the most impressive in downtown. We are generous with our employees in terms of bonuses and commissions, we are only open on week days, we have pool rooms, exercize rooms name it. Our team is getting smaller and smaller, we have difficulty recruiting qualified people...what am I overlooking? What's missing that I don't see and would attract people here? Any suggestions? thanks

can you still be hired as a truck driver? Part of the screening asks this question. I was diagnosed almost 5 years ago. Since then have nearly 5 years sober thru a 12 step. I am currently seeking employment as an OTR driver for trucking companies and am wondering will this prevent me from being hired at reputable driving companies. Do i need to go back to a doctor to get my diagnoses straightened out so I can apply? I consider myself better off because I do Not drink, while other undiagnosed drivers DO drink during their time off so i don't think it should be counted against me.

I'm due to leave my job in October and as I have only been a permanent employee from May 07, I am only required to give one months notice. However I really enjoy my job and get along well with my manager and the small team I work in. My family and friends all say I should only give 1 months notice, but I would like to tell them earlier. Would there be any harm in doing this? Could they ask or insist I leave sooner?

Should i add a comma after the word AND?

This incident will cause the price to increase, and as a result, the company will lose its customers.

Why does it ask for people you know?

Are they planning to contact them?

Personally, I've never had any of my friends get a call from my employers.

Thanks

But this morning I received a phone call from the same company and they said that they were exteremely impressed with me and would like to keep my information on file as they are going through a major merger in the next 6-12 months.

I was given the impression that they are kind of testing out their new pick and if things don't work out then.....

At the end of the phone call I was told that he would not be suprized if they called me back in 6mos or less.

If a candidate was not selected the first time around, then why would they be considered again?

I am someone who is desperate to get outta the craphole that I am in. Mixed signals like this are very discouraging and downright depressing.

Any ideas???

my wife and i are both family doctors. She makes $140k while i make $120k, and i have no problem with that. I am actually proud that she is worth more than me in the medical market.

But, while at a party, a friend of mine was outraged that i made less than my wife for some reason. i told him that i was proud and had no problem with that, but i think he had issues with male-biased thinking.

We are a very young family of three and I would like to relocate to TX because it has been listed as one the best states to move to as far as quality of life/cost of loving is concerned. I am particularly interested in the northeastern region (Dallas/Ft worth region). I need to know how I can go about finding a job. I am educated/worked in the finance field (worked in NYC for 2 years). My company has no offices in TX. I would like to get a gig before I move so does anyone know of any agencies that can help with my situation? A lot of agencies I have talked to are asking me to move first then they will help me, I have a baby and I do not want to move without a job, too risky. I also wanted to know which are the best towns to consider when moving there, I mean I want to be able to get to work easily. My main concern though is how can I get a job when I am all the way in the east coast?
