"Radiologic technologists are the medical personnel who perform diagnostic imaging examinations and administer radiation therapy treatments. They are educated in anatomy, patient positioning, examination techniques, equipment protocols, radiation safety, radiation protection and basic patient care. They may specialize in a specific imaging technique, such as bone densitometry, cardiovascular-interventional radiography, computed tomography, mammography, magnetic resonance imaging, nuclear medicine, quality management, sonography, or general radiography."
Besides regular x-rays, we also do gastrointestinal exams (upper GI, barium enema), intravenous pyelograms, hysterosalpingograms, cystograms, operating room cases, portable x-rays, etc. etc. etc., (sometimes even morgue cases)
I would like to make more $, but for being fairly new in the field, it's ok, and more than I've ever made in any other job I've had. I could make more if I specialized in one of the above-mentioned modalities. As far as hours, rad techs are needed 24/7/365.

Im not one, but knew people that were. Basically if you are an xray tech, and get a job with the hospital you pretty much have that job for life so stability is there. Money you will start above the 30k line but remember hospital so within 5 years you would be making over 40k
