On top of that, my mother is a lawyer and NO, i don't watch those idiotic shows on the television that provide people with all the WRONG information about what being a criminal lawyer is all about....so NO i won't be in for a "rude awakening" puhhh-leazze....gimme a break!!

I regret giving you an honest, candid response. You are obviously ungrateful, and as much as I'd like to fling a few rude names at you, I won't.

I stand by my response to anyone who thinks they are in for a "fun" time in law school or practicing law is in for a rude awakening. If you're going to cry "puh-leeze" in response to candid responses from practicing attorneys, then you need to grow the F up before you start thinking about law school. If you don't want legitimate answers, go cry to your mommy and ask her for her limited view of the world of law (I'm sure a criminal lawyer can tell you all about what it takes to be a civil litigator or a corporate or M&A lawyer, or an environmental or IP lawyer, r advise on tax laws. Good luck with that) because you clearly don't appreciate others taking their time to give you the benefit of their experience.

We get plenty of immature brats sending their resumes to us, thinking the world owes them a living and a "fun" time. We don't need more.

Honestly I don't think being any kind of lawyer is fun. It's very hard work. Some fields like corporate law will definitely pay better than others, but there's a lot of work involved either way. You need to decided on what would stimulate you the most. Closing huge property deals/disputes or defending the rights of the innocent etc etc.

If you like to compete then you need to be in a courtroom. Whether it is criminal or family I dont think corporate would be much fun, but then it depends on you and what you like. However I am thinking that title law would not be fun regardless of who is doing it.

Fun! I've never heard a lawyer refer to his job as "fun."
