I work at a place right now and out of nowhere my company wants to change my department. They never discussed it with me and they said its because they need people in that department but i dont want to move and i dont think it fair. Basically they told me that if I dont move than i cant work here anymore. So the question is "If they fire me because I dont want to move to another department can i still collect unemployment? They hired me for this position, so can they really fire me for not moving? If it helps i live in NJ.

This is stuff from my early twenties for crying out loud! I successfully passed the written test for this position(scored a 90) passed the polygraph test, and after about 3 months of waiting, I was just told today that they lost allot of my information and would like me to start over because the lady that was handling my background investigation went on maternity leave and didnt leave any information on my case so far. So the new investigator told me he was not going to move forward at this point. I feel like suing because my credit report does not DEFINE what kind of worker I am and I have worked hard at rebuilding my credit.

OK, im an admin. assistant i am 19 years old. This guy i work with USE to be in charge of our office like 5 years ago. Then my boss hired him back for the hurricane season(i work for a disaster relief company). So he is in and out of the office to go work in the field. WELL, when he is in the office, he expects me to get all his work and plus some. He gets paid salary of $1500.00 a week. I get paid hourly $9.50 a week. Well, when he gets in town, i dread it, bc im gonna get swamped with his work. Well, when he gets mad at me when i say, "I can't get to your project right now, it'll be tomorrow until i do" he gets irrate. He blew up on me yesterday bc he couldnt get a rise out of me, then he started to call me names and kept egging me on. So i blew up and sound like a complete monster. He wrote me up and gave to my supervisor, which my supervisor shredded it. He says he knows how that guy is, but how am i suppose to handle it? My boss' are on vacation right now.

I have a tremendous passion for helping the unfortunate, or those unable to help themselves, (elderly, children...)I was interested in being a police officer but i decided that wasn't for me. I was working towards my AA in criminal justice but now I think i'll get it in psychology. I would like to work hands on with kids but i have no formal experience in day cares or anything like that. I've grown up with children and I love them to death. Especially infants. I think theyre so adorable. My gf and her stepmom and friends were discussing what I could do but came up with few conclusions. IDEAS? =)

It must pay reasonably well. My girlfriend is going to be a teacher and a stay at home mother for several years. I would like to take as little school as possible. Preferably a bachelor's degree.

I am in the process of getting my BSN and I was thinking of getting my cosmetology license too because I have an interest in doing hair on the side. Would that be time consuming considering that being a nurse has a lot of crazy shift hours?

I've been turned down from alot of jobs because I don't have experience (such as working in sales), even though i know I can do the job with ease. How am I supposed to get a job in selling things if nobody will hire me because I need experience? Most of my friends I know have said they lied to obtain jobs. Do I need to lie? Is that what this world is coming to? If not, how can I prove im worthy?

Whenever I go to a Librarian interview and they ask me what are my weaknesses in this area, I never have a good answer.

I'm not saying I don't have weaknesses in different areas of life or if it were a different field, however, working at a library allows me to use those areas that are my strengths which is I'm sure part of the reason I earned my Masters in this area. I love the people, finding information & sources. I'm good at the desk work that's part of the work, ordering books, etc....But just for tomorrow, could someone enlighten me in answering this. It may help someone else who stumbles on answering this question also.

I finally stood up to him and now am looking at a written warning. It has my signature block on it. I would like to refuse to sign but it will probably get me fired and there is no way I can handle that financially right now. Can I ammend my signature by putting something like "in dissagreement" underneath my sig?

I have 5 yrs background in e-learning industry as a designer of industry and gov't training material. My degrees are BA linguistics and MEd in educational technology.

For my master's degree, I did take courses in financial management and systems theory (applied to non-profit orgs such as schools, etc.) but basically I'd be starting from zero with basic accounting courses, and a 2nd masters degree (MBA, MAcy).

Will I be out of a place (just call me "gramps":) as an entry-level accountant along with 22-30 year olds at a big 4 firm?

Advice for breaking into this field for an until-now academic and soft-skills guy who is good at numbers and detailed analysis?

I can never decide how much detail to go into on my relavent exerience type section on a resume. For example if the job title doesn't seem explicit I usually write a sentence describing what i actually did. Is this too verbose usually?

I am working on a resume for a position outside my trained field so I want to make sure the "soft skill" correlations between what I do now and what I want to do come through.

I have a job interview today and I am terrible with asking the interviewer questions? Does someone have some good examples for me. I always think the questions should pertain to the position and the interviewer, in my opinion, always gives me such detailed information I never have anything else to ask.

But, I hear it's better to ask something so...any help you have would be appreciated.

Do these have to be granted to an employee regardless of whether they have resigned or whether the company are refusing to prolong their employment status .ie - Can an employee be formally sacked by e-mail with little or no repercussion to the company? Please bear in mind this is also caught up in an "Unfair dismissal" dispute due to the company attempting to renege on a formal contract of employment. Thanks in advance guys!!
