I am going back to school this summer, but really havent decided a career. i am 26 with 2 kids and 2 stepkids, going to school for a low paying job is not realistic for me. I have to concider daycare being so expensive, and with local schools, I dont have alot to choose from. I never would of thought about radiology but now it's what i've got my heart set on. What exactly does this career involve. I like hands on jobs, I couldnt imagine sitting all day doing the exact same thing over and over. Another thing is I can't stand difficult math, (calculus, hard algebra) is this something I would have to do everyday? Please respond if this is the path you have chosen and let me know anything and everything about your job! Thanks so much!

I work full-time and have been able to take some night/weekend classes, but would like to take more from online universities. How do employers view this - positively or negatively?

My most past job was at a hotel as a cashier I loved it and even got plenty of great reviews from guests and even fake shoppers. But anyway we got a new manager in and since working there full-time and lots of times over time I have only got 3 breaks but never complained because I enjoyed people but it got to me when I couldn't stop for 2 minutes to do nothing its better for them if I do 2 then 30 but the new lady got upset.

And so did I and I said am leaving in two weeks and she told me to leave now!!

So I did and saw this job at wendys I just need something to pay for college and I put that as a past job because thats were I learned my cashiering at and I placed Publix too what I did when I was 16.

SO what are the chances of them calling that job? I heard they told other workers I stoled if I did I would be in jail but there thoes type of people I placed the wendys job yesterday hopefully they won't give them a call because I was a great worker but over worked.

I'm in the process of updating my resume. Since I may be getting another part time position, I'm considering dropping a volunteer gig I list as part of my "experience" and possibly moving it to "additional experience" if necessary or applicable.

However, since I only volunteered there for 3 months (the nonprofit office ended up closing because the organization couldn't afford to keep paying the rent and it wasn't at all profitable), do I need to explain that gap at interview time if say I do leave it off my resume?

No one has ever really asked about my work there, except for one place which found it relevant to their goals. However, since I had recently started the volunteer work, I guess it wasn't enough and I didn't get the position. : P

Was reading a forum about beating the system regarding urine tests and saw people talking about which places actually do drug test but there was no list and none that I could find on the internet. Any one know of any? Thanks.
Note: Give a thumbs down if you KNOW that what someone states as a place that does but it is false. Thanks
Just for curiosity... really!

I left a really good job 2 yrs ago to stay home a raise my newborn triplets. There was plenty of notice, not bridges burned. In fact my boss wasn't suprised at all that I need to resign. two years later I really need to go back to work and the job market is slow. My former boss is now an EVP at that company. I have applied to a couple of positions there that have opened up but no luck. I am thinking of calling her to see what I can do about improving my odds of getting an interview with a few openings coming up in her department. I just don't know how to word it properly. Any suggestions?

Whenever an interviewer asks your weaknesses, doesn't that seem like a trap or catch 22. Your suppose to answer the question yet if you say something like i lack time management or I have poor people skills then the interviewer could take that into consideration when hiring you. Whats a good way to get around this question, or answer it vaguely?

The firm I work for had already offered and had a confirmed start date for this candidate. Yet they still interviewed me, knowing the job had gone. Is there some sort of law within recruitment which says this is wrong? And where do I stand now? It surely cant be equal opportunties etc? They arleady took the decision employ this person without me even attending an interview. (I work within this organisation and applied for it internally.) The candidate they took on was external. Thanks

ok i just got off the phone from a woman who works in a clothing shop. Shes asked me to come in for an interview on Friday as i sent in my CV.
However, i havent mentioned that im going on holiday for ten days in just over 2 weeks. and then once i get back from that holiday, im away after another 2 weeks, again, for 2 weeks!
Should i even bother going to the interview because im assuming they wont want to hire someone with all these holidays booked?
What do you think?

It's been a year and a half since I've been working at this job. My review is long do. I keep asking my manager what's going on. I finally told him just to let me know if I'll even get a raise. I said I wanted to know now so I know if I should look for another job. He said they will give me a raise when they hire an HR person. Should I tell him I've decided not to wait and look for another job?

Differences between http://www.oil-offshore-marine.com and http://www.careerjournal.com - WITH ARGUMENTS PLEASE

I'm a mechanical engineer looking to get into the oil&gas industry. I've been browsing on both http://www.oil-offshore-marine.com and http://www.careerjournal.com and don't understand which one is better for me. I want to get a well paid job in the Gulf of Mexico or Persian Gulf (UAE or Saudi Arabia).

What site should I focus on?

Please provide clear arguments once you analyzed those websites yourself. Where can I have more chances of getting hired, preferably on an offshore oil platform? Thanks a lot!

If we forget to clock in she wont adjust but when we work past our scheduled time she takes it upon herself to adjust the time. I think it is illegal for an emplyer to tamper with your timecard???

Hello everyone,
I just got a new job, been here for about 3 weeks now, and to be honest I don't like the dynamic in the office or the job I'm expected to fullfil. What can I do? Is it right to quit now? Should I wait? Should I come up with an "excuse"?

I would appreciate all the feedback possible.

Thank you!!
