Sales, no special certificate. Dispensing requires Pharmaceutical certification. I imagine that this is a pretty tight knit fraternity. It can't hurt to ask. Call some of these HR departments: http://www.druginfonet.com/manufacturers.htm

Entry requirements vary from country to country and pharmaceutical companies but generally, particularly in the Philippines college graduates are required, preferably science and management/marketing courses. Winning personality, particularly rapport building skills and ability to communicate are predictors of success.

General core competencies for Medical Representatives are:
Pharmaco-Medical Competence, Interpersonal Competence, Transactional Competence and Entrepreneurial Competence.

A college degree is a must, as are good grades. They may check into your grades science/math classes, as these carry more weight than say, history or literature.

If you have stellar academic performance you may be able to get a job without sales experience. Sales experience without a degree will not work.

My wife and I have a few friends who are involved in pharm sales. Most of them came from the medical field, and have assorted degrees in nursing or similar. However, pharms do not consider this a necessity in hiring for sales positions.

They WILL want you to have a college degree, but not necessarily in a field related to pharmaceuticals or medicine.
