If what you are looking for is to be employed by a company that uses SAP and be an end user of SAP, it is not all that necessary that you do a course in SAP. Your qualifications and expertise in business functions would get you the job. Most employers train people to use their systems soon after being recruited.

However if you want to take up SAP as a profession you will need to do one of the certification exams.
SAP solutions are categorised in to modules, such as BW, CRM, HR, FI/CO and so on. Before you enrol for a course in SAP, find out what each module involves and decide wich one is most relevant to your current know-how. For example if you have studied accountancy and that's what you like, you would most probably choose the FI/CO module.

Also decide on the level of certification that would give you the best return on investment. For example, consultant level certification is needed for the highest paid jobs. However if your aspiration is to be a qualified user of SAP, a user level course would suffice which costs a lot less.

As long as you have computer experience SAP is not that hard, I know I use it. Find a company that uses SAP and see if you can get a job there. They will train you in what you need to know for the job you will be doing, They will also pay the fee per access (Approx $5K) for each area of SAP that you will need for your job. SAP is custom for the most part per business, and the way that it interconnects all aspects of that business in real time.

SAP courses cost $5,000 to $6,000 and it probably won't get you the job. You will have to get your foot in the door another way. If you have a great deal of experience in the job you are applying for like, HR, Payroll, Accounts Receivable etc. then play that part up with the expectation you can be trained very easily on SAP.
