I simply told him that his company would fo out of business due to his management style, I also stated that he was an aggresive manager. I also told him that he harassed other employees that worked for him previously.

I did not curse, but I did let him know what a lousy manager he was for sure.

i have this rather awkward in behavior, ex-boss who I really have a good relationship but it is different since he is no longer the boss and there is less in common to talk about i.e. nothing work related.
The other day in front of a few colleagues he said I was a bit of a *****...totally unexpected and i think he was shocked at what he said too. But it was too late. We all laughed and I semi glared at him.
any tips regarding when i see him again- i briefly saw him and he awkwardly said hi and chatted with some one else and that hurt a little bit- why can the be friendly enough to face me after he used a swear word. Am i over reacting? My goal is just to network and keep good professional relationships with everyone

Should I disclose the fact that I will be travelling to the UK for 2 weeks in September in a job interview I am going to next week? Is it appropriate to give prospective employers a "heads up" on this? Will this harm my chances of getting the job?

Hello,

I am in a "different" type of situation. While I am an experienced customer service manager I have just received my associate of arts in accounting degree. My goal is to get into the accounting field to gain experience, and I expect that I will need to take an entry-level position to do so. I have sent resumes to several employers and gotten no bites.

I am pretty sure I need help with my resume, so if anyone has any suggestions on how to get over this hurdle I would appreciate it!

Also, I wonder if the fact that I have so much management experience and make a good salary scares off employers when I apply for entry-level work. What do you think?

I am filling out a job application and want to fill it out honestly and correctly. I was laid off from a job five years ago and would like to know if this is considered discharge as I was not actually fired.

I've been there for a while and they asked me if I was planing on staying "permanently" when they hired me and I said yeah. BUT, I hate it and I have been looking at different job postings that I feel would be more interesting. If I get a new job, can I tell my boss that I got recruited to a better paying job? I want to leave on good terms and I'm afraid if I tell them I'm quitting because I got another job, they'll get pissed off especially since my boss specifically asked me if I was planing on staying with the company for a long time.

Some job positions specify that they hire new grads. If one or two years have passed after graduation, but still want to get an entry level job, can he/she apply for the position?

I applied for a job at adult correctional facility and after the interview I was told that I was to young ( 19) for the job. I recieved a letter in the mail about 2 months later telling me that I was reffered to a youth rehabilitation center. They told me that
it is an orientation and I need to bring 3 reference letters and my resume. I am very confused .... I never interviewed for this job and they are calling me in for orientation. Isn't this strange. Any insight will be helpful. Thank you.

I work in Washington State and my employer has a mandatory lunch rule where if you work an 8 hour shift you have to take at least a 30 minute unpaid lunch. Well I didn't take a lunch for two weeks straight and now they have deducted 30 minutes from each day off my pay. Is that right?

I had tried to set up a lunch meeting to see her again. However she is extremley busy so it is hard to get her to commit to anything. I worked in a dental surgery for 4 years and left a year and a half ago after a disagreement with my employer. I didn't have a contract, didnt get a payslip, I was expected to man the surgery on my lunch hour, so I didnt get much of a break although I was paid for my lunch, If we ran over I always stayed late and wasn't paid for extra time, anyway after a huge argument with my boss which left me in tears I walked out, I didnt want to take my boss to a tribunal but now he is making life difficult for myself and another collegue and wont provide references for any jobs we have applied for, so im now considering it, but the thing is although he was hard to work for we did get on , and had a laugh and this has put me off doing it, just want everyones opinion, and If I would have a case if I was to take it to a tribunal, thanks xx

I hate the boring day jobs, i want something exciting somewhere. The military i thought about but decided against so that is not an option. I live in a dead city with 26 thousand people. Anyone know of some city/place where they have exciting jobs that will train? Is there any cool jobs out there?? maybe even a job that they give you a place to stay? I know they have jobs in alaska where you live on the ship or in this factory setting while you work 16 hour days. I wouldnt even know where to start to get a job like that, i check oregon employment department but came up with nothing. any ideas? thanks in advance
