Hello,

I am in a "different" type of situation. While I am an experienced customer service manager I have just received my associate of arts in accounting degree. My goal is to get into the accounting field to gain experience, and I expect that I will need to take an entry-level position to do so. I have sent resumes to several employers and gotten no bites.

I am pretty sure I need help with my resume, so if anyone has any suggestions on how to get over this hurdle I would appreciate it!

Also, I wonder if the fact that I have so much management experience and make a good salary scares off employers when I apply for entry-level work. What do you think?

First off check to see if the company you are working for has any openings in the accounting department, that way you are already known, and know the business. Next get your resume out there on Monster, Career builder and the state sponsored employment sites. With your experience you are most likely to be above entry level, you do not know until you try. Best of luck to you

its all swings and round abouts you got the experience but employers are a very funny thing they prefer school leavers so they dont have to pay the salary but school leavers dont have the experience so how long is a piece of string

Have you tried looking into your current company? You know them and they know you. People transfer departments all the time.
