Something fairly easy, just part time! Mainly for the summer! No worries on age limitations, unless you gotta be like 21, which for most jobs you don't! lol So yeah, any suggestions?

I don't have that much work experience or kept in touch w/ my supervisors, so I feel more comfortable asking a fellow employee. Is it possible to use an employee (on your level) as a reference on job app? Thanks

I am a single mom who is going to be starting beauty school in november. I will be going to school 9-5 5 days a week, living at home and of course I need to work part time. I used to work at a deli that is right around the corner from my school and I left on good terms. I want to work there a few nights a week and maybe a full sunday or monday. I want to start now while they need help and it is busy. Should I be totally honest about my school plans or should I just keep them to myself? I am not sure if the owner will be turned off by me using this as my job to pay the bills while I am in school for 10 months then quit. What should I do?

don't get me wrong but i want to be honest and want to find out about your opinion. is this a cultural thing? my manager (the one who approves my timecard) is from india. having said that, few days ago, he visited my condo since i told him (happen to let him know about situation by chance) that i want to list it for sale. he then told me he got a friend who might possibly move and buy a home. he want to look at my home. i honestly didn't feel comfortable but had to say 'sure ok'. few days passed and he 'reminded' me by announcing that 'I am coming over tonight to view'.

ok, so he's visiting me. he came by after work and wanted to learn about my loans and look at the house. he sits next to me to view my laptop screen as i did searching of other competitors. that's fine. now here goes the funky part.

his hands were laying on top of my thigh and didn't bother to move it away as he sit so close toward me to view one computer screen. i was explaining things and tried to ignore

I am 24 years old and at the moment work as a cashier. I'm not too proud of my job and the salary is not the best. I also always imagined to work in a good job. The problem is I have social anxiety, I am very scared of people, I am quite and have close to no communication skills.....I usually just freeze up around people. So I wanted to ask you, maybe somebody has an experience....what would be a GOOD job for a shy person? What office jobs are there, were you don't have to interact too much with people? I am so confused, it seems I just can't find the right job for me. And I tried EVERYTHING to get rid of my shyness but.....nothing worked.

I had a job interview the other day at a call center.
I never heard back from the call center, which is odd, because they told me they would call me either way, whether I got the job or not. The lady said she leaves nowone hanging.
Why didnt she call?
Also, I was talking to someone who works there, an they were talking to the girl who interviewed me. Apparently she said I did excellent on my interview, and great on my tests I had to do, BUT the skirt I was wearing looked like a skirt I should have been wearing to the bar, not a job interview.
I didn't think it was that short, but whatever.
Anyways, I am just wondering, do you really think that I would not have gotten hired because the skirt was ACTUALLY too short? Or do you think there is more to it?
THANKS!

I cancelled my job interview after realizing that the commute was far but after much research realized that there are many alternate route to the location. The position is a great opportunity for me. It's doing what I really like to do and do best. I am thinking of contacting the HR person to have them reconsider but I'm not sure what kind of a response I would get. Should I ask anyway?

and making progress. He said that after that, they will judge how I am doing at my work and if I do good or make progress, they can change me to full-time, if not, it won't change to full-time.. He also said that he likes me to make progress on the job and move on to learn other new things too..

What do you think about all these and why he decides to change my hours to part-time and what you think I can do?? I also think that there are many other full-time jobs out there and I think I can easily find one if I quit this one since they are going to switch me to part-time. Do you think I should quit or not and what other advice you have?? I just think the ppl in the office too are not very organized or stick to their words or say things that are not true...Like they insist that they have showed me how to do some things when they haven't....

I was informed at a meeting today that my boss was taking a leave of absence for personal reasons. I wasn't at the meeting, I was conferenced in via phone. She will be gone for an undisclosed or unknown amount of time. Everyone was just silent and I could hear her cry. There was no explaination given and this was totally out of the blue. All I could say was "God bless, and I hope I see you very soon."
I want to know what the appropriate thing to say to her is when I see or talk to her again, or if I should send her a card or something (I'd like to). I don't know what is the matter and my imagination is running wild...sick? family member dying?quietly being fired? I really admire her and I wish I could say something while at the same time respecting her wish for privacy. I've worked for her for 3 years and she's seen me through some tough times.

After many months of searching, I finally have an interview with a major global food/beverage corporation! I'm excited and extremely nervous at the same time...(this is the career move I’ve been waiting for, from here I can work my way UP) I passed my first interview, however my next interview will takes place with several top executives within the department I've applied to (I’ve been provided with an interview schedule for the morning)

Currently, I've held the same job for 7 years, and I have a limited amount of "job interview" experience. I've researched online and collected a few tip hear and there...however personal experience is always a plus....I would like to hear of any personal experience or suggestions you might be willing to share.

Enjoy your weekend.
