I cancelled my job interview after realizing that the commute was far but after much research realized that there are many alternate route to the location. The position is a great opportunity for me. It's doing what I really like to do and do best. I am thinking of contacting the HR person to have them reconsider but I'm not sure what kind of a response I would get. Should I ask anyway?

Yes. Better to ask than to alwayz wonder... "If I would have asked to be reconsidered, I wonder if they'd still hire me...." & think that for the rest of your life... You'll be kicking yourself for not asking! It doesn't hurt to ask :) Even if the employer says no then @ least you'll have your answer :) Good luck on your job interview !!! :)

Yes. It worked for me. Last fall I had just got hired and on my first few days of training, I hated the job. Then I got a call that week from a place where I applied a while back and had REALLY wanted to work. They wanted me for an interview, however I had already accepted another job offer so I declined. After much thought, I decided I really wanted to go for the interview. I called them back and explained that I had carefully considered it and would really like the opportunity to meet with them again for a possible position with their company. Thankfully, they agreed and set up an interview with me.
I ended up getting the job, and they are my present employer.

Moral of the story is, never hurts to try. :)

overlook approximately it as you have burned that bridge. you probably did the main suitable ingredient by utilising contacting them. despite if, in case you circulate returned and ask to be reconsidered, they are going to determine you as unreliable and thoughtless. regardless of each and every little thing, how do they understand which you will no longer exchange your thoughts in the event that they offered you the job? i might circulate onto something else. besides, you waited sixteen days to tell them which you replaced your thoughts and can consent to be interviewed? it would not paintings that way interior the genuine international.

Is the job being the Senator from Massachusetts?
Repeatedly changing your might there is fine, but in the business world, no one will respect you if you can't make a decision and stick to it. You can call , all you're investing is phone call. Call and ask, but I think you'll be wasting your time.

Well, it doesn't hurt to ask - what do you have to lose? But don't get your hopes up.
