The most highly paid jobs go to people who have at least a Master's Degree in college, with emphasis on business oriented classes.

They also have to have very good skills at "selling" themselves. They have to be very confident in their abilities, be adept at managing details and other people.

There are a lot of high-paying careers in a variety of areas--medical, business, technical, computer programming. Check out a national career survey (several are published a year--I know within the past few months I have seen them in either Money magazine or Kiplingers for sure). Most will require at least a four-year degree, but not all of them. There are quite a few college-dropout millionaires out there.

There is room in just about any career for a smart and motivated person to rise to the top (well above the career average) both professionally and financially-, so do some thinking about where your passion and skills really lie.

A good personal fit is what will allow you to rise to the top rather than drift along at the average income level. Passion and drive are what will get you through any educational preparation you need to do to begin your career, and will keep you going on your journey.

Good luck!
