I would like to make money at home-maybe on the internet. I am in college, and I can't get a job (without a degree) making good enough money to pay for daycare, gas, and still make money. Any suggestions or things that have worked for you would be helpful. Would like to get an SUV soon-could use extra money.

I work at a law office as a legal assistant part time. Almost every day my boss tells me I did something wrong. Everything has to be perfect for her. And, I'm beginning to hate my job. Yesterday, she asked someone for computer help. And, one of the other bosses asked me where something is. I did not say anything. My boss responded to her by saying she is clueless. I'm getting minium wage, never worked in a law office in my life and I'm treated this way. She also complains that she is not getting cannot get good help to clients on the phone in front of me or in person. I'm getting angry. Is it time to give notice and quit?

I am about to sign up for an on-line class for MS publisher. I know it's probably not as high end as some software. But I see it as a job requirement often, and my husband already has it on his PC, and I have it on my PC at work.

Your thoughts? And please be specific. Just "yeah" or "no, it's bad", doesn't really help me.

Been married for 7 years and looking forward to many more to come. Husband works alot and misses out on alot of things w/ the kids and we dont do much together as a couple. He is tired of working all the time and I know its took a toll on his health. I would like to work again to help him so he can get a different job and take it easier. His job is consisting of him being gone for 16 hours a day and he works in another state. He has had this job for 4 years he makes good money but if he told me he wanted to quit and find something closer to home and cut his salary in half I would be happy w/ that but I would have to work. I dont mind working I have had the joys of being home for 5 years. But I am afraid to go to work because I am the only one who can help me w/ our 2 kids. One is in pre-k and the other is in kindergarten. How do you couples who have been in this same situation do it? I have know one to help me if our kids are sick or etc and I am afraid of having to quit a job.

If your boss wanted to get fired and actaully did, then she got mad at you because you got promoted to her old position and now she wants her job back how would you feel and what would you do? I constantly hear of her bashing the job and saying that she can't believe that she got fired after so many years with the company, but she wanted it. I did/said nothing to make her want to stay. I told her she has to do what she has to do, but now she seems mad about it. It's not like I can control another persons actions so why should I have this guilt put on me? What are your opinons?

I am moving to a better area, so naturally I need a job closer to my new home. I applied at a clothing store called Cato. They said they needed a manager and did I want that job. I went in for an interview with the manager,(there was a sign on the door that said full time position inquire within), I was there for 2 hours talking with the manager and taking a couple of test. Then she said she needed me to come in for another interview, only this time with the district retail manager.(when I got there the sign for help wanted was down) I think that interview went well, she told me during the end that she was impressed with my attitude and that she was crabby that day and I cheered her up.( she also said I am tough as nails) So now they want me to come in Monday and speak with the vice president. She warned me that the vice president is very professional and very strict. That I need to act, speak and dress professionally.

I had a phone interview, an assessment session, and a 2nd interview with these guys, also known as GE Money. It took them exactly 2 weeks to give me an answer, which happened to be no. I had called and followed up a few times during that time, only to be given the run-around. Why have an employment hotline and website if you're not going to tell the applicant anything for 2 weeks anyway? I finally got an email-- they can't even be good enough to give me more than a form email after I waited 2 friggen' weeks. I don't recommend working for these jerks.

Person 1: Has only worked in one place, as a cook in a restaurant for 4 years. This is the only work experience this person has, but has been able to stay committed to that job for four years.

Person 2: Has held a variety of jobs over the course of those 4 years ranging from server at a restaurant, to being a loader for fedex trucks, to working as a sales associate at a local sporting goods store. This person never got fired, never got bad remarks from his or her bosses, rather left the job due to time constraints with school or etc.

This is assuming both of these people are the same age, have the same academics, everything is the same except for this. Who would you rather hire and why?
