I am about to sign up for an on-line class for MS publisher. I know it's probably not as high end as some software. But I see it as a job requirement often, and my husband already has it on his PC, and I have it on my PC at work.

Your thoughts? And please be specific. Just "yeah" or "no, it's bad", doesn't really help me.

It's great software.

It allows you to make a professional looking flier in no time at all. If you couple your training with Adobe Photoshop, you can create little ads to place in your fliers as well.

I do recommend it, even though I haven't seen many jobs require it as much as Excel, Word, and Access. Good luck!

It gives me great ideas, but I don't like the lack of control I have over the program. Anyone who has tried to customize the color pallet for a brochure will know what I am talking about. Given a choice, I usually do the same thing in Word or Power Point. Recently I gave up trying to create something in there, and just did it in Power Point instead, I was too frustrated, it kept turning gray stuff pink.... Ug!!!

I love it...because of how user friendly it was when I needed to make 50 "Programs" for a 50th Wedding Anniversary..and they needed to "look" professionally done...I had never used the program before...and I can't tell you how beautiful they came out with alignment etc.

A lot depends on how much you will need it..so if you're are finding that your job requires it often, then go for it..always pays to learn new software.

I think it's a good program for simple projects, but it is a bit limiting if you are moving to challenging detailed projects...just my opinion.
