My boss and the hiring manager don't get along that well. I left the company for awhile and my current boss helped me get rehired. (She really needed someone and hadn't filled my position.) The other supervisor is offering to fully train me and the position pays $5,000-8,000 a year more. Would it be stabbing my current boss in the back? Would she feel used? I have been back at work since last July, so it's not like I JUST came back, but still, I know my current position is hard to fill. I don't want to come off as a jerk. I think it's probably all in how I handle it. One of the things I discussed with the other supervisor is perhaps we can do it on a trial basis or I can work my current job for 1/2 the day and learn the new job for the other 1/2 of the day to see if I like the position and can grasp it without burning my bridges in case I want to stay. I did a good job of that when I left the firm two years ago. I left in a way that the door was still open for me to come back

I really look forward to work for a particular company and there are several positions I am interested in applying. At the end of the description for each job, I have to send a cover letter and resume with a specifically assigned subject title in the email. The contact email is the same for all the jobs and obviously the same person or department will be seeing my email several times. Is it a good idea to apply for all the positions I am interested in or should I just focus on one? Should I write a cover letter each position or should include all of them in one? Any suggestions?

A former employee recently wrote to my boss analyzing our website - which I manage - amongst other things. I took over her job almost 2 years ago when she left the company on her own. This woman & I are both family friends of my boss, but I have only interacted with her professionally. In her email to my boss, she included a 4 page word doc pointing out all the mistakes, typos etc on almost every page of our website that she believed I needed to correct, without anyone asking her to. She's done similar things in the past, but I just ignored them. But, almost 2 years later she still wants to interfere. My boss made a joke out of it saying that she must have been bored; but that I needed to have a look at her comments....but I kind of felt that he should have stood up for me or asked that she stop interfering. What do you think?

Ok, here's the thing. I'm trying to book an appointment with an in-clinic psychologist and trying to find a new job at the same time. Most of these walk-in clinic therapists (since I can't afford the private kind) and job interviewers are usually available Mon-Fri, 9am-5pm.

BUT I work Mon-Fri, 9am-5pm. That's the problem. Now the job interview thing I might be able to get by here and there but what's really getting me is the therapist part. That might really be a problem, what am I gonna do? Call out sick once a week to see a shrink? Or do you think my employer will understand if I have to leave work 1 hr. early for once a week to see a therapist?

I teach a vocation course. It is like a back to work program (welfare to work). My students have either never had a job or do not know how to get a job. Regardless of what I teach and the examples I provide in real world scenarios I always get the same behavior from the bulk of the lot. Class starts at 9 AM and ends at 3 PM. Many swagger in at 10 AM, 10:30 AM, sometimes 1 PM. During class many surf the Internet because they do not have computers at home.
That is a bit of background. One student on one occasion told me, "Why is you botherin' me?" when she was not doing assigned work. We discussed her behavior that day and it got better but only temporarily. This was not her first snap back. today as class is being held she is in another room working on her resume. This same student sent me an email today while in the other room asking me for a reference. How do I say, "No" without dampening her spirits but showing her that she really needs to make some improvements?

I am totally sure I am going to get a lot of negative answers and oppinions on this, but I am asking for serious reasons.
Right now I am pregnant and I have no family members who support me in any way. My boyfriend is abusive and I am going to leave him. I lost everything when I got in my car accident. The car is totalled. Lost my job cuz of it.
I have no money except the money I got back from the book value of my car.
I am considering after my baby is born to become a escort. They make good money and I can take care of my child w/o having to stay w/ my b/f, and I can get on my feet again.
Their is no way I will get an abortion or adopt my child out. I dont care if any of you say I should, because for me its not an option!!!
Do you know how to get into this business? I have no idea how I would start.
Im ready for the good answers and the ugly answers you all have to offer me.
