Keep your options open! Try babysitting, tutoring, landscaping (cutting grass, pulling weeds, digging holes), even washing windows! Post signs that tell people what you can do, and wait for the calls to roll in! Also, try Craigslist! (I have to say, even though I'm sure you know this, never give out your phone number, address, etc. to strangers and always keep your parents informed on what you are doing!) Good luck!

Baby-sitting, dog walking, mowing lawns. In my area, we don't have alleys so we have to put our garbage cans by the curb on garbage day. At the houses were people work all day, a lot of times their garbage cans are rolling around in the street by the end of the day. Two kids in our sub-division decided to make a business out of that and they went door-to-door signing people up for their services. On a monthly basis, they will come around and pick up your garbage cans and place them anywhere you want. A lot of people were impressed by their ambition and their willingness to work so people signed up even if they didn't really care if their garbage cans were rolling down the block by the end of the day. Look around your area, identify a common problem for the residents and think of a service you can offer that would solve it.

Baby sitting, dog walking, yardwork (mowing lawns and weeding), car washing (which could count as cleaning, I suppose), ironing, sowing and mending (if you know how).
