Go for the interview, as it will give you a way to make a good comparison.

People interview for jobs at other places all the time. Nothing wrong with it.

Find out when your raise and promotion is coming. If it isn't soon enough, you may want to take the job at fresh market, if it pays $10 an hour plus benefits for full time or more.

I guess it really depends on where you would prefer to work. Fresh Market tends to be more of a high-end, upper-class type of place, where Kroger is just your garden-variety grocery store. A lot of times, you have to change jobs every so often to get significant pay increases. But then again, if Kroger is treating you right, there's really no reason to jump ship. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

. I guess i would make a list on what both has to offer you. Since it is a fresh market does it stay open all year or is it seasonal? Is the raise enough for you? Make a list and see who has the most to offer.

well think of it this way- you started at the bottom at kroger, now you are being promoted, next you could be head cashier, then assistant manager, then store manager, then regional manager, and so on....

basically I am saying it looks good to remain loyal to a company and that is a good way to advance your career
