If your boss wanted to get fired and actaully did, then she got mad at you because you got promoted to her old position and now she wants her job back how would you feel and what would you do? I constantly hear of her bashing the job and saying that she can't believe that she got fired after so many years with the company, but she wanted it. I did/said nothing to make her want to stay. I told her she has to do what she has to do, but now she seems mad about it. It's not like I can control another persons actions so why should I have this guilt put on me? What are your opinons?

I say you have nothing to feel guilty about. She wanted out and got her wish so it's her own fault. I wouldn't waste another thought on it. I guess she learned a hard lesson of it's better to look before you leap. Even if you didn't get the position someone would have and if your company fired her the chances of her getting rehired are extremely slim so enjoy your new job and don't listen to her.

I think she shouldn't be mad at you but be mad at the company, because it was them that fired her, and them that gave you the promotion, and if she has a problem with that, then she should take it up with them. I also think that you shouldn't back down to her, because if you got the promotion you probably got it because you earned it, and she can't take that away from you.

this is typical of folks that think they
are so much better than you
you better watch your step and mouth
she will be gunning for you
you now have a spy watching your every move
try distancing yourself from her
dont completely loose comunications from her though
or else she may use this on you as a weakness
just concentrate on doing the job and leave the personal BS out of the equation.let the others higher up deal with the matter

You have nothing to feel guilty about, as far as I can tell. You did nothing to get her fired, and you happened to be the best qualified to fill her position. It's too bad for her that she wants her job back now. Forget about her, and enjoy your new job!

As long as you didn't walk her down the plank then she made her own bed. If you got promoted to her position then you deserve it. I know you probably feel a little guilty, but don't. Enjoy your new success, and if she can not be happy for you then thats her problem.
Good luck

She is crazy! I don't know if I would even take the time to sit and talk to her reasonably, but it seems like you listen to her go on and on, you might as well tell it like it is. That way she will get off your back.

Don't worry about it. She just needs to deal with what she asked for and you need to make sure you put in a good effort at work.
