I teach middle and highschool, and the kids don't really notice the small flower design I have on my wrist. If they do, they say "is it real?" and then go back to their work. However, I am considering wearing a watch over it, just in case a parent gets mad or something.

I graduated in 2003 with a BA in History. I didn't have any luck getting a job in the history field after college, and now I'm 2/3 done with my MA in Military History, which I will finish in August--although I won't get my diploma until December. I want to work at a museum or do historical research, but so many jobs require experience. I've got education but don't have any work experience in the history field, and I can't just volunteer because I need to pay the bills somehow.

I live in Alaska and want to move back to the Lower 48, but I need to get a job before I move, and it needs to be in late August or early September so I can move before winter comes.

Does anyone have some good advice for me? If you work in the history field, I'd especially like to hear from you.

On record with the EEOC, what is the next step? I am bringing charges against a co-worker for creating a hostile work environment and racially harrassing me. When I call the caseworker for my case I get excuses about why she hasn't reviewed the responses from the company yet. Should I call her supervisor? This situation began last September. I need to know if my next step is to get a civil rights lawyer or to call other agencies like... The Labor Board or The Dept. Of Human Rights? I am not ready to drop the incidents and 'make nice.'The perpetrator has been since moved to another security post with better hours and a raise. The more I think about it the madder I get...

I am going to be going to be applying for college pretty soon and I have no idea what I want to be. I have so many ideas but I just don't know what would be a good thing to do. I want to help kids, I ABSOLUTLY love being around kids. I was thinking maybe a teacher, but I don't think they get paid good enough. Then I was thinking a pediatrician, but I can't deal with blood. And then I was thinking a councelor that helps kids with their problems. And then I was thinking of accounting major but I heard they don't get paid a lot and they don't work with kids. I don't know if anyone has any opinions please let me know!

Thank you

Ex) Studies have shown that employers will overlook someone with an "urban" name vs. a "typical american" name for specific positions. "Amy got an interview right away. LaQuisha had more experience, but got overlooked for the same position.

Do I reschedule. Do I bring it up beforehand and give the interviewer the option to reschedule? Do I show up and do my best to disguise it? In a situation where making a connection is absolutely key, what steps do you take if you have a cold the day before an interview?

If it matters: The position is on the upper side of middle-management, one step below the executive level in the retail sector. This is the sixth and last interview before I expect to receive a job offer.
