Do I reschedule. Do I bring it up beforehand and give the interviewer the option to reschedule? Do I show up and do my best to disguise it? In a situation where making a connection is absolutely key, what steps do you take if you have a cold the day before an interview?

If it matters: The position is on the upper side of middle-management, one step below the executive level in the retail sector. This is the sixth and last interview before I expect to receive a job offer.

Two options- One go and inform them that you are under the weather but that you are one dedicated individual who did not want to miss this opportunity; then politely inform them to keep their distance- as you don't want to share your cold.
Two- call and ask them if they would prefer that you reschedule as you do not want to infect them. This gives them the option, if they say no then you still go and there is no need to inform them again- you've already told them.

Good Luck and get well.

Oh for pete's sake, you have a cold, not a terminal illness! Just take some cold medicine (but watch out for drowsiness) apologize to the interviewer and tell him or her you want to keep your distance because you don't want to infect them, and get on with it!

If you want the job, you will go to the interview. The employer is going to see that as being indicative of your work ethic if you bail on your interview. It's not like your dying. Suck it up.

well that would depend on how you feel. are you up for it? can you go and answer questions, ask, etc. if you feel more or less like you can, i suggest going..take some medicine before, nice long hot shower, dress, etc and go and do your best. tell them perhaps you are not feeling great ( do not say you are contagious) but say you showed up because this is a tremendous opportunity that you did not want to miss. trust me, sometimes even if they like you, they might hire someone who does show up just because they need a person to start..you never know. trust me. if you really feel bad, do not go...of course call and email and explain yourself..health is more important obvisouly but do your best to go !! good luck

Go to the interview. It will show that you are willing to go even if you are sick. Appologize for the coughing, sneezing, nose blowing, etc. and give it your best shot. Good luck.
