I've been signed off work by my doctor now for 5 weeks with stress related depression the main cause of this has been related to me job.
I don't feel that I will be able to cope with going back to work in that enviroment and therefore want to hand my notice in, but I dont know if i have to physically work it?
Have spent all morning on the internet with no success.
Can any one point me in the right direction of what to do?
Thanks

Hi, I went for a job interview on Tuesday for a position I saw advertised on a jobs website. It was with an HR consultancy for an administrative position. I attended the interview, and got a response the next day by phone informing me that I did not get the job, but the two people interviewing me were extrmely impressed at my CV and presentation. She said my knowledge of HR was very good. She said she has spoken to the Director about me for a position within client services that will become open within two months time, and will forward my CV. It is flattering but I do not know what to make of it. Is the organisation seriousma dn should I wait for this job or do I look elsewhere. It is a little confusing. Any advice would be helpful. Thanks.

I need a new job but have been told that an employment agency could find me one quicker than looking in the situation vacants column. Has anyone used an agency for full time permanent employment and if so was it any good?

I've just gotten my degree in journalism but the part of the field I want to get into (photojournalism) has few jobs and is very competitive. I can easily get a job in another field, so was considering taking a different job to get by while I still looked for a photojournalism position. But does it look bad to have a job listed on your resume that you've only recently started? Or does it look worse to be currently unemployed? Thanks!!

Hello y'all,
I am just trying to find out if it is illegal to hire someone from outside the workplace to do a job that was never posted and that someone else (me) is MORE qualified to do.
Yes, it's unethical, but it is illegal? If it is, I'm ready to fight these jerks.
This girl was a former employee and was called in her job outside this company to see if she would like to come back and take this job. She accepted the position. I was sent to open the clinic until she could get there (her 2 week notice) and am MUCH more qualified than she is, but the job was never posted!
Please advise - thanks much.

I recently resigned from a very good company with a high salary. I had a problem with my coworkers that's why I resigned. I'm having hard time now applying for a job because of the salary I had with my previous company.. How can I justify that it's ok for me if the salary is lower than my previous?

I'll call my boss Andrew, for anonymity.

I do a lot of temporary work and sometimes go back to the same placement (as I get asked to go back). My boss' wife came into the office one day (never met her before) and I greeted her and shook her hand. The first 2 things she said were, "You know that Andrew is very pleased with his permanent secretary". And so I just shook it off and thought nothing of it, as I couldn't really care less, as I love temping. The next thing she said was, "Don't you ever get asked to leave, if you do something wrong?" I nearly fell off my seat, as it came as such a surprise. I went all red and just said, "No".

Andrew's permanent secretary does ask me back, when she takes leave, so why did his wife say these things to me?

I am in my late 40's, and not interested in further legal work. My resume is excellent scholastically and in my career, where I spent 15 years as a senior research attorney for the highest court of my state (one of the best regarded state Courts). I enjoy the analytical process of research -- both online and off -- and equally enjoy writing clearly and simply for easy understanding. I would like to use these skills to answer people's questions in a way that benefits them and society. My greatest pleasure comes when I know I am helping others, directly and one-on-one. I am very charity-minded, but I would like to have a modest income, not riches. How can I combine my idealism and skills for a second career I would enjoy?

Oddly, I've found the experience here on Yahoo Answers (under a different account) very pleasant, although I would like more depth to my work. Unfortunately, YA only pays in points!

Please, serious answers only.

The few I looked at want me to send money for a kit. I have always heard and read that honest companies don't require you to pay a fee or buy a kit of some sort. If anyone knows of truely honest companies that offer work at home jobs please let me know. Right now I'm unable to work outside my home. I have a computer and would like to do some kind of work using my computer to make some much needed income. Thank you very much.

I am 26 years old and I have been working at least 2 jobs at a time since I was eligible to work. I currently work as a nite auditor in a hotel and in retail. I fell in love with the hospitality field, so I did some research and am attending the most accredited online school. Since I live in a very expensive area, I cannot afford to take time off to physically attend college, hence the multiple jobs. Awhile ago, I was commenting to a friend on how proud I am of my 4.0 GPA. She scoffed and boasted about her 3.7 'in a real college'. So I ask, am I wasting my time, or am I on the right track?

------You pay $199 to get a licence...which sucks...then... from what i heard, you dont make as much money as you thought you would!!

I am planning to apply for an open management position in the office where I work. When my boss announced the position, she said that anyone who wanted to be considered should submit a 'letter of intent.' I had been planning on submitting an updated resume and cover letter that outlined why I would be best for the position how my expereince would help our office / the company move forward and grow. Is this this same thing? when I google 'letter of intent' all I get is legal businessy stuff, and how to write a letter designating who your children's guardians will be if something happens to you... nothing about applying for a promotion within a company. Please help????
