Read the contract again, there could be a clause written in the contract where they have a right to ask for more hours. One thing you may consider is this:

If you need the 20 hours of work, you might find yourself getting less hours if you don't work the added hours.

This literally depends on your contract, they may incuded a cause that "is Legal" which entitles them to change your working hours and patterns from time to time to meet the needs of the business, if this is in there, then they can give you 30 days notice and change your hours, if you have the contract and are able to scan it and email it to me, will check it for you.

you do have a choice, if your contratc states 20 hours then thats fine, but if it states 20 hours MINIMUM then you still have that choice, more money, but if you feel like you dont want to then sit down with your boss and explain, i did and it helps!

the simple answer is no they cant make you work longer unless they give you 90 days notice change of contract, seek a union rep or go on line for worplace law but dont be bullied

It depends how our contract is worded. If it says something like '
Full-time cover for sickness and holidays is also required' and you have signed to agree to this you may not have a choice.
