We have alot of employees that clock in early or stay later and are actually working. I believe they should be paid. The policy says that you won't get paid for clocking in 30 minutes early or up to 15 minutes later. But this is against the Fair Labor Standards Act. The law states you should be paid for any time worked over 40 hours per week.

My boss is thinking of promoting me, but has made it very clear that in order for that to go ahead, I must fulfill certain 'requirements'. I know what you're thinking, and honestly, I wish it were that simple.
No, instead, she wishes to walk me round on a lead in her house and generally humiliate me for half an hour, once a week for six months.
I would get a £4900 per year pay rise. Any thoughts to help me out?

Also, how much do Managers make...on average, in the Midwest (Its a little store).
If I get asked to be a manager, should I take the offer. I've heard some say that they wished they weren't a manager.

I'm only 17, but I actually kinda like working at McDs.
Please give me your opinion.

I have 4 years spent in the US Marine Corps as a combat engineer, so mild wood-frame construction work, and also experience with demolition and small-arms.

I'm also very good with computers, literate, well-spoken and experienced with all Microsoft software applications. I learn quickly, and the military has given me great skills in multi-tasking, and thriving in work conditions that are overly sressful.

It may also be pertinant to say that I live in Southern California.

I don't know how many times I've walked into a store and within 20 seconds someone is asking me if I have any questions or need help finding anything. This bothers me because how can I have any questions when I haven't even had a minute to look around? Usually I can be polite and say something like no, I'm fine thanks, or no thank you. But after I get tired from shopping for awhile I find it annoying. I don't wanna be snippy, but why don't the employees at least let you have a minute or two to look before approaching you?
BTW.... I have worked retail in the past, so yes, I am aware of the fact that you do have to greet customers. That isn't what annoys me. It's the do you need help finding something, any questions... when I have barely walked into the store. I feel like I am being rushed in and out of the store when they do that.
