If you like working fastfood there are lots of chances to grow into management its competitive and you can make real money..I dont know about mcdonalds and yes I have worked there but i prefer burger king where assistant managers make about 400 a week but they have to work lots of hours. Those who say theres no future in it, dont know anything.Show up ,work hard and connect with your customers and they will love you when I get a bad apple I count them off as a miserable person and try to be upbeat. Some people enjoy that work .I do ! When a person comes in I try to treat them good because I know theres always the chance every thing else is wrong in their life at least I can try to offer them a smile and a few words and a pleasant lunch.I hope it works out for you.

more than likely, you will probably have to wait until you are 18 to be a manager, and that is because minors have rules they have to follow. For example, in Virginia, minors must have a 30 min. lunch break before they work 5 hours and cannot work more than 5 hours straight.
now, I work at a grocery store, and had to wait until I was at least 18 to be a manager. This is because sometimes, I don't get a break sometimes, which is against the law for minors. Plus, there may be some tasks associated with a management position that minors cannot do- such as operate certain pieces of equipment.
plus, management, may be responsible for handling larger sums of money than cashiers, and there needs to be a legal responsibility there.

I don't know how long it would take you to get to manager position, but from what I've heard they max out at like $12 an hour. You have to work full-time however. Being that you are 17 unless you drop out of school I don't think it is even an option.

Serving McDonald's for a long time doesnot gives you any guarantee for promotion to work as a manager.McDonald's is not a little store.Everywhere they have the same appearance and designs, interior decoration and looks.Your qualification, experience and ability is important but most important thing is your Public relationship.
