College atmosphere is not at all like high school. You will see people attending from all ages. Don't miss your opportunity and regret it!

You're more likely to get a good job with a degree than without one, even more so since you have that felony on your record. College will redeem you somewhat by showing that you've gone straight- especially if you can get involved in some community service as well, which is supposed to show that you're now a repentant, compassionate, productive citizen- whether you are or not is immaterial. People will see it on a resume and that is the impression they'll get.
As for being too old, don't worry about it. College is a mix of so many different age groups. These days, lots of people go back to college later in life. 22? You won't even stand out. As you yourself mentioned, you'd probably still be in college at 22 anyway, even if you'd started straight out of high school. My boyfriend is 33, he spent years in the restaurant business before coming back to finish his degree. People enroll at all different ages, and working for a couple years before starting is not at all uncommon.
Go on, try it. You'll do fine.

Im 21 too and still haven't gotten my head straight when it comes to college. Im going to be 22 next month and im gonna try to make the year school worthy. Which means quit BSN and focus. Oh and for the felony well yeah it might be hard to get a job but u have to start somewhere. My husband had got himself into trouble when he was younger too with many misdemeanors. Now he has an 8-5 job AND going to college full-time. I don't know how he does it but he does. Im sure you can too.

I went back to college when I was a bit older - 55, to be exact. I already had a B.S. and had done graduate work in a bunch of different things without ever getting a Masters. So I went back as a freshman to study things in which I was interested - conversational French, Modern Middle Eastern Literature, a few other subjects. Ages in my classes ranged from 17 to 71. Go for it.

You need a college education. You are never too old.
If you want to start the momentum, start with night college. If it works well for you, then go full time, if you can afford it.
I started back when I was 25 after going to night school for almost 5 years to get an associates degree.
It was hard at first, but you get back into the homework swing of things.
Good luck, and start thinking positive about how you are willing to work for your degree.
GOD bless us one and all, always.

I started college when I was 21, turning 22 my Freshman year. Best decision I've ever made. I just graduated last December (just shy of 25). Two things, one, you'll be suprised how fast everything comes back to you, and two, there are no "norms" in college. Though you may be outnumbered by 18 and 19 year olds in your 100 level classes, everything starts to blend together after that.
It's never too late.

No one is ever too old to get an education. Yes, the majority of the kids in your freshman class will be 18 and 19, but Im sure no one will be able to tell the difference anyways. I dont think you should worry about it, go for it. College is a fantastic learning and growing experience in iteself.

Rob:
You are never too old to learn!
Don't worry about your age, the best thing is that you want to go to college to get a good education to better your life.
The best advice I can give you is to think about what you want to major in, research that field, and contact local colleges and universities to set up appointments to speak with Advisers to discuss your class and course agenda.
Be encouraged and keep a positive outlook on your educational career.
Hope this info has helped you.
God Bless....
