Here is what you can do, i doesent matter if you are unemployed you can still work and get paid. Can you write, can you research, can you make data entry? then you will have no problem getting a job online.
You need to put some work and time to get your projects done but its simple. Work as a freelancer online there many networks where busineses are hiring people like you on the internet.

The best thing you can do is to continuously looking for a job. Another thing I believe you can do to fill up time and to prove people that you didn't waste any time when you have a job interview is to do some volunteer work. It doesn't matter if the place you volunteer relates to your prospective job. You can volunteer in any non-profit places (hospital, nursing home, library).

I worked an independent sales job between jobs before. It was something that eventually I could make it a full time venture. It was something that most people when I got new jobs could use also...so it worked great for me.
