I mean I dont really know what to do at work. Some of my co/workers are asking me if I am going to sign up to be their leadman in our dept. I keep on telling them that I dont want no part of it as I have had that postion at my former job. But now part of me says go and sign up for the leadman postion and the other half of me says no. One part of me wants to look for antoher job and the other part of me says stay right where Im at. So which way do I go? The hourly wage is pretty good but if I do decide to sign up for the leadman postion it will be more $$$ per hour too. What would you do if you were in my postion?? Go for the leadman postion or just stay right were you are at right now?

I have been seperated for about 3 weeks now (thank goodness amicably) and find myself having to start earning money again after 9 years of being a stay at home mom. My kids are 14 and 17 (read expensive) and I don't want to leave then to their own devices every evening...
During my last 9 years I have tried a web based store (store-in-a-box kind of thing) which made no money at all and have received my Reiki Master Certification with the intent of starting up a therapy "spa" in my home...but how to get clients? And will it be enough money?
I took a job last week as a car sales associate - hated it!
I interviewed with Farmers Insurance to become a licesnsed agent, but just don't think that selling insurance sounds very rewarding and Farmers does not provide leads and has very strict quotas to be met.
Where should I look for a decent paying job/career with the best possible income potential?
I would love to do something internet based if I KNOW for sure that it is LEGIT and WORKS!

I am currently living in LA and just received an offer to work for a company in my field here. However, I just recevied an offer to work for a similar company in Boulder Colorado. The salaries are relatively similar with the exception that the company in LA will let me in on their profit sharing plan. I am really torn up about this. I have lived in both places and they are very different. The quality of life, affordability, and lifestyle are much better in Colorado. However, I fear that the better career opportunity is here in LA. I haven't really enjoyed living in Los Angeles for numerous reasons and I want to do the right thing.

Any words of advice or wisdom are GREATLY appreciated!

am currently a temp at a company. I like the people I work with and some of what I do but I am getting paid very little and have no benefits. Now they want to offer me a permanant position wih a title change and a nice raise. I don't know how much longer I will stay in the field (I want to go back to school) but I do need the insurance and a pay raise would be awesome.

Is it unethical to take the permanent position?
What would you do?
Would you accept a permanant job offer if you aren't sure how long you will stay in the field?

I have been at my job for 5 years but I feel that it is time to quit. My boss has usually treated us as equals and as friends, she has done me and my coworkers favors and we have done even more for her, but over time I have noticed that:

a. she schedules two other workers and me every weekend, many nights, while giving other people (even new workers) the preferred mornings and weekends off.

b. the new workers have attitude with the customers and call in sick many times and have embarrased her in meetings yet even with less than one year of service she is offering one of them a new position. i have represented her well in several meetings. she always says how much she appreciates me and two other longtime employees, but actions speak louder than words.

c. i recently found out that a person who started less than a year ago makes more than I do.

the main reason she is doing this is because she sympathizes with people with sob stories. SO? that isn't fair to me!

I work with a majority of Hispanics and most of them are very sweet. I have noticed that they are are reserved at first, I guess they don't know how we'll act towards them?I have worked with one guy for about the past 8 months and him and I have become really good friends, despite our language barrier. I can speak more Spanish than he does English and we both converse and teach each other our language. He tells me that I am his best "amiga" and that he hopes we are friends forever. He also will say stuff like "sexy" or "bonita" or "tienes novio? porque..tu eres muy bonita" which I just take as joking. A lot of the people I work with figure why bother to try and communicate with them and do not even give them the time of day. Do you think they appreciate an effort in getting to know them and communicating and that's why he tells me I am his best "amiga" or is it just a cultural difference? I know I appreciate it when they speak English.

I'm,a college sophomore I work fast-food and we have a new shift leader, he is young about 20 years old and when we have a rush of customers he just stands around with his hands in his pocket, and if we are short a cashier, the manager takes that position and does those duties, but when it's time to clean up and stock he places me in that positon and tells me I'm responsible for both sections while he goes in the back and sleeps. I don't think this is fair.He was walking around saying 'If anybody snitch Ill find out and make them wanna quit; But the district manager said if they are making ur job hard let him know and I wouldnt have to worry about anything.Oh and by the way, many employee have been snitching that he sleeps on the job, but guess what I HAVE PICTURES!
