I'm,a college sophomore I work fast-food and we have a new shift leader, he is young about 20 years old and when we have a rush of customers he just stands around with his hands in his pocket, and if we are short a cashier, the manager takes that position and does those duties, but when it's time to clean up and stock he places me in that positon and tells me I'm responsible for both sections while he goes in the back and sleeps. I don't think this is fair.He was walking around saying 'If anybody snitch Ill find out and make them wanna quit; But the district manager said if they are making ur job hard let him know and I wouldnt have to worry about anything.Oh and by the way, many employee have been snitching that he sleeps on the job, but guess what I HAVE PICTURES! I snapped them with my camera phone just in case he and I have any problems.Should I report him to the district manager or what?

You should turn him in, but not for the $20 reward and not because he is a young boss. Turn him in because he is an arrogant jerk, who threatens his employees, cheats the company out of time and you might earn the respect of those who are his bosses. Don't do it anonymously. If you believe it and want to make change happen, have the brass ones to sign off on it! Remind them that this was a hard decision, BUT you are acting in the best interest of the company. Do it and OWN it dude. Or just whimp out, it is your call. Godspeed and good luck!

That depends on your interpretation of exactly what the district manager said. First of all was his statement directed specifically at you or others as well? If he said it to you you are on firmer ground to report this employee to the district manager. You had better make sure that your interpretation of what the district manager said is accurate. Also, what is your motivation for doing this? Are you doing it to get revenge against your co-worker? Or are you thinking of doing this because you feel that this person's behavior is counter productive and the behavior interferes with the smooth and efficient functioning of the team; that this kind of behavior makes more difficult to work as a team towards the goal of excellent customer service?

Send them to the district manager anonymously. You might not get the reward, but $25 isn't worth the hassle from that jerk you caught sleeping. Let the district manager get rid of that guy based on the evidence and you stay out of it.

Is there any way you can find out your district manager's email address? I would email these pictures from an anonymous email address. If you can't find the DM's email, find out his snail mail address and send them there with an unsigned note reading something like "here's your superstar shift leader in action". With people just snitching, it is there word against this jackass's word so nothing can be done unless the DM catches him in the act.

I'm with sunshine_today on this one. The $25 reward isn't worth it, but it's worth turning in teh picture just.to get rid of him. Print up a couple of 5x7 glossies and snail mail them to the district manager anonymously. A picture tells a thousand words.

I was gonna say "No, don't be a tattle tale" til I read your whole story. Now I say "Burn him!" And take the $25 bucks. You've earned at least that much doing all the extra work. Take care & good luck getting better supervisors in the future.

No, just do your job, learn from this experience. It will give you that motivation to do good in school so your job selection will not include working fast-food unless it is in upper management.

NO...tell him if he wants to keep his job, you want $250 or the pictures are going to the brass :>
If he continues to sluff, maybe talk to him about it..if he is a real jerk and continues...YES, but do it so he will never find out who did it.
