Decide which company you will have the greatest growth opportunity in, and see which place offers a better standard of living for the money. If one place is a dead end job or you dont see anyway to advance in a year or 2, then i would take the other job. Also, which company is larger, smaller companies may go under for any reason and then you wont have any job.
I just has to make a similar decision, although they were both in NY. One was for a smaller company, pay was alot higher than the big corporation with the lower pay. I took the lower paying job because ....this company will never go out of business, there is more room to advance, and it had phenom medical, dental, eye benefits. That smalller company has since cut its staff and I would have lost that job the next year, because a friend of mine still works there and gave me the scoop lol.
So you need to see what is better for the long run.

answer this: does the profit sharing plan and opportunities in LA overshadow the quality of life, affordability, and lifestyle in Colorado? especially when you havent really enjoyed living in LA?
aside from the pay and the location - create a giant scorecard of the company itself ... what are some things the Colorado company is offering that the LA one isnt? and vice versa. can you see yourself a year from now - ten years from now - in the same company?
good luck with your decision :]

Looks like colorado here u come. the pay is mostly the same so why not move to colorado? but anywayz get a sheet of paper and write the good things about living in LA and write the good things about living in colorado!! which ever one has the most good things move there! it works trust me. and u will be happier no matter what because u will have good reasons why u moved where ever u move.

Since you wee already offered the job in Colorado, you really do not need to worry about career opportunities or job security, unless you are pursuing a career in a very volatile field. Given the qualities you listed, it appears that you make prefer life in CO over the life you have experienced in CA.
However, since you have actually lived in both of these areas before, you may also want to consider the personal contentment (or lack thereof) you may have felt while living in either location.
I was born and raised in the Mid-west (in a rural community), moved to Phoenix, AZ for 2 years, and was then convinced by my father to move back to my home area (to be closer to family as I raised my children).... Although I m close to family, I find myself longing to return to "the Valley of the Sun" almost everyday. I miss the heat, the culture, and the vast opportunities that I had available to me; I have felt a sense of emptiness ever since I left the city and regret leaving.
Whatever you decide... follow your intuition and your heart.

This is a tough one.
It sounds as though the job opportunities are very similiar, like you said, so I would move to the location of which you love - Colorado. It sounds like you would be much happier in your personal life and that will positively affect your career. Good luck!
(and I agree with what Anna says)
