I was a civilian contractor in Iraq for 18 months. I had my resume on line with Career Builders and was contacted by a recruitment company who represented a company wanting my services in Iraq. I am now working with a different company that has contacts with US companies operating in 78 different countries.

As for qualifications it depends on the needs of the company. Most of them do prefer former military experience and past expatriate (overseas) employment.
