I have been seperated for about 3 weeks now (thank goodness amicably) and find myself having to start earning money again after 9 years of being a stay at home mom. My kids are 14 and 17 (read expensive) and I don't want to leave then to their own devices every evening...
During my last 9 years I have tried a web based store (store-in-a-box kind of thing) which made no money at all and have received my Reiki Master Certification with the intent of starting up a therapy "spa" in my home...but how to get clients? And will it be enough money?
I took a job last week as a car sales associate - hated it!
I interviewed with Farmers Insurance to become a licesnsed agent, but just don't think that selling insurance sounds very rewarding and Farmers does not provide leads and has very strict quotas to be met.
Where should I look for a decent paying job/career with the best possible income potential?
I would love to do something internet based if I KNOW for sure that it is LEGIT and WORKS!

I agree with the answer that said to try to work some hours at a spa, because that is a great way to get clientele. If you decide that you want to do some of the services privately, you can hand out cards to clients with your cell phone or personal info so that the clients can get in touch with you apart from the spa (depending on the spa's competition policies). If this does not pan out, you should really consider meeting with a local employment agency (like a "temp" agency). Sometimes agencies are desperate to fill positions. Even if these positions are entry level, they can quickly lead to different higher paying jobs within the same organization.

Most people are against teen moms because most of their pregnancies could have been avoided by making more responsible decisions. Most teens either get pregnant from using little or no birth control, and have no clue about their bodies. It is harder for teen moms because they do have to struggle more, and could possibly lose out on opportunities in life because they are not ready to properly take care of children. In your case with the rape I am ready to congratulate you on being a strong enough person to make that kind of decision. I am glad to hear that you are still in school, and are trying to be a good mother. I do not fault you if you are pregnant again because the truth is, birth control can fail no matter how old you are. In that regard I would be looking into a different type of birth control method in the event that you are not pregnant. I know the first time is no fault of yours, but you know now that you have to be responsible because you are a mother. Most people are going to judge because so many teen mothers do not go the route you did. You sound like you have a huge support system in your family. Many single teen moms do not have this. You don't have it easier than they do, but you do have options some don't. When you are judged just ignore the comments and focus on the important thing, you know you are a good mother, no matter your age and that is what matters. Worry about what your daughter thinks of you, and no one else.
