I have already given 2-week notice for the job I accepted, but I may be getting another offer! If I get this new offer, is it ok to decline the other offer even though I already accepted it? I feel kinda guilty!

Got interviewed at Target on Friday, they said they'll call me. But I have not received a call yet as of today. Does that mean they won't call at all? Or do I have to follow up? Thanks for all replies :)

I was asked this in an interview today for a part-time job working at this business in their office. I really don't have a "dream" job but I know making $9.50 an hour doing a boring job is not it so I said my dream job would to be a model or to be like Paris Hilton and get paid just to be obnoxious. Ok, I know that was a really stupid answer, but what would have been a good answer. I guess another question is: "is it ok to say stuff in a job interview to make you look good even if you don't really believe it"

I am moving out of state in a month and I have been sending out resumes using my soon to be address. I can't afford to go on interviews in my new state (to far to commute). What do I tell employers when they want me to come for an interview prior to my move date? Can I ask them to do a phone interview?

I've had a total of 3 jobs this year. One was a temporary contract position I did for 6 months, then I got offered a permanent opportunity at another location only to lose it when the accounts manager I was working under as an assistant decided to quit after two months. After that I was out of work for three months until I was able to find yet another position as a Receptionist in a small real estate company for four months. Yet due to heavy (very heavy, as in talk of the act with me and me being the "sexy secretary") sexual harassment, I am once again back to finding a job. I have so much potential and a lot to offer, but I've been dealt a ton of bad cards this year. Is there any way to make my resume show that I have gained experience from these jobs and not look like a hopper? What do I say to a potential employer that I am looking for an permanent opportunity and really eager to try even though my resume dateline does not show that.

What are some of the ways to effectively communicate this? I have a pending offer from another company and currently considering which one to choose. Is it ok to re-negotiate salary or benefits once you accepted the offer?

Need advice but cannot afford a lawyer.

This company's contract of employment goes this way. You join them, u sign a contract and u r bonded to them for 2 years. Why? Because they promised to give u training in the first 10 months.

If u leave within the 10 months, u have to pay back ALL the salary they have paid u so far and some other amount of $$. after then 10 months, but not exceeding 2 years, for every month u don't serve them, u r required to pay them $4000 while your monthly salary is only less than $3000. If they fire u within 2 years, u have to pay too.

In the contract, the employee is specified as an employee, with contribution made by company to the employee social security fund and pension fund. The payment made monthly to the employee is specified SALARY.

It is also specified that the amount owed if one leaves b4 2 years is "expense expended on" the employee.

Is such a contract legal?

We live in Virginia. The restaurant now has a posting in the window from the rental management company? Should we call them, go to small claims court, report this to a government agency or even the IRS? Any ideas that would lead to him getting paid would be appreciated.
