Like many others, my private $30K a year University has a motto "our students after graduation lead an extraordinary life". I graduated 1.5 years ago, and I ended up with 1) no life 2) huge loans to be paid off and 3) no no job in my Field (2 majors : Psych, Crmnj). Only 1 person from the Career Center after tons of emails, have decided to EDIT my resume, which I must admit was extremely helpful. Despite the fact that I have already 5 years of Customer Service experience & administration + degree I was often offered $10 per hour. Doesn't this look as exploatation? I worked for 2 seasons PT in retail and fashion and I loved it. I applied and have been interviewed today for FT job with an idea to go lower & work it up step by step! I came early 45 min, dressed for success, 2 managers interviewed me for over an hour. I was told they are interested & will contact me in 2 weeks (after background check). Are those good signs???? Do you think I'll get it? It's a well known retail. Thanks!

I work at a Movie Theatre, and my co-workers are mainly male. Well, being teenage boys and all, they tend to be a bit immature, which is understandable. They are constantly giving me a hard time though, teasing me, poking my sides, grabbing me and scaring me, sexual inuendos, etc. My guy friend that works there said several "like" me and told him I was "beautiful" and "hot" which of course I don't believe. I just don't understand why they are constantly giving me a hard time, I just laugh it off with a smile knowing they are just having a good time, but why do they act this way with me? I'm always smiling and laughing so I don't know if that has anything to do with it, but it makes me wonder if they even like me if they are constantly teasing me, I always thought if a guy liked a girl he'd try to be as sweet as possible.

Thanks for any help!! :)

Guys-if you do this why? Guys, if you do tease girls, do you tease all the girls you know, or just a specifc few?

I'm 17 by the way!

I'm planning on getting a bachelor's in psychology, and from there I'd like to go into graduate school, and eventually become a licensed therapist. But because I have been told there are very few options for those with a bachelor's degree in psychology, I'm considering the associate's in mental health first, which will hopefully lead to a job that'll get me through the rest of school. The problem is, I can't find any information on what I can do with this degree, if I do go through with it. Does anybody out there have any suggestions?

I have taken a new job and have given my current employer 6 weeks notice. I'm on salary and my boss wants to hold back some of my pay to make sure every thing is in order after i've left. My integrity has never been questioned before and i hold a position of authority. I've been with the company 9.5 years and feel i'm getting a raw deal.

While I putz around, I know I should learn some computer skills.

I want to learn Microsoft Office.
I can use Word and Excel and other programs, but I am not proficient. I would say that my skill level is somewhere between Intermediate and Beginner. I can get by, but I would like to have SERIOUS skills so that I can say, "YES. I know how to do that. No problem."

I need a tutor or a class. I want to learn to do all from beginning to end.

BTW Although I have a job, I feel that I need to make myself more marketable for the FUTURE. I won't always get away with just knowing a small amount. I happen to be employed by an undemanding person. I think i have to strike now. It seems that the iron is red-hot. THANK YOU TO ANYONE WITH ANY ADVICE.

The boss said he wanted to think about how much would be a good amount, and would get back to me.

Sometimes he's forgetful, so I'm wondering in what time frame I sould gently remind him to look into that if I don't hear anything about it. A week? Two weeks?

All of my bosses don't wake up and give me work until mid to late afternoon. When I tell them I've been here since 9:00 a.m., they look at me like I have two heads. They know I prefer to stay busy but it does no good to keep telling them year-after year. I would change my hours and work later but most offices like the 9-5 shift. I know some offices have flex hours but not my place. My luck, I would change my hours to work 3-11 if I could and they would still not bring me work until 10:30 p.m. What's wrong with these guys anyway? Is it a control thing or are they all just procrastinators?

... that He is asking more of you than he's paying you for. The last person who did my position did it for the same money, but I do it in less time and more accurately. But, rather than offer me a raise or think about reducing my hours because of this- my boss just keeps giving me more to do. He tells me how much he appreciates it... but frankly, I don't work for the appreciation.

He is a very high strung person and does not handle change well - so Im just not sure how to approach him and explain that I think he's taking advantage of the fact that I am better at this job than his last manager was.... and giving me more and more to do... without compensating me for it.

Suggestions?

I have ten years experience in the engineering industry. A recruiter help give me an opportunity to land a good job at a reputable company. I even recieved a sign on bonus. She keep calling me and asking how is everything every week. She said she even called my engineering department and talked to my supervisor. After being there only two weeks, she indicated that they are very satisfied with my work, but to me that is to be expected. What is her deal and how is she getting paid? Does she get paid the same time I get paid or what? If you know anything about the recruiting stage, please enlighten me.
