The CV Centre made a first rate cv a few years ago and everyone finds my resume impressive.I then tried to find a job in Greece for 2 years. I wanted to work in an office and sent off my cv 500 times by adapting it individually.I bought their book and followed tips.I achieved to attend 12 job interviews.I have been unsuccessful. My problem is I have a speech impediment and weakness on my right side of my body. When I have job interviews and open my mouth, prospective employers do not hire me on the grounds of my lack of experience.I had English friends in Greece, they prompted to come over England as England was the right place for disabled people. They proved to be wrong.I came to England on 3/11/03 and the only job I have achieved is the Care Assistant in the private and public sector. When Derbyshire County Council hired a Relief Care Asst last October, they stopped me from work due of my disabilitylast November(please see my attached files).I have contacted Recruitmeent Agencies, they

they told me that I had not UK office experience. How can I get the experience if they do not give the chance?I also tried to get a volunteer job but nothing came up.Under preferential redemployment ,Derbyshire County Council officers gave me feedbacks from job interviews (posts:Generic Clerical Workers),they could not offer me the job as I should answer the phone.I know that this is not my strong point.I am looking for a job which does not demand reception duties and telephone. The local Job Cente has been unable to help me

I have been hurted when people turned me down for my speech impediment.I would like to ask you if it is wise to mention that I have a speech impediment on my cv.How will you help me to increase my chance of securing a job?I will try to get a post of translator, techinical writer or jobs which have to do with internet

I look forward to hearing from you

Hi antony! I am sure that you will still be able to find a job despite your speech impediment. Employers look for intelligence, initiative and a general positive attitude to what you do. If you go into an interview with a defeatest attitude an employer will not want to bring such negativity into their work place. A good company will not discriminate against your impediment, unless it is specific to purely speaking. There are lot of office jobs that do not require this. As long as you can communicate with confidence you won't have a problem. Sell your good points and people won't notice the rest! Good luck! x

Try working as an audio translator from home. You could offer a service as your own business. Your English seems ok but if you're not confident enough a short course by mail may help.
Dont forget when typing to put a space between the full stop (.) and the next word.

You should go to your local office of disabilities and apply for disability. They also have job opportunities available for the disabled. I'm not sure why you think being Greek is a problem, however, it does not qualify as a "minority" with affirmative action preferance in the US.
