How much money does an advertiser make?

Question

I wanted to know, becuase I has looking into that profession
-and if you are an advertiser answering this question do you find your job exciting?

That depends where you are at in your career. The saying goes that in the first half you make very little, in the second half you make a lot. Part of the reason for this is that it's easy to burn out on it all. (Yeah, I'm in my first half, and making a healthy stack of beans).

Yes, it can be exciting, especially that part when that perfect idea hits you, but then there's a lot of grunt work too -grinding out the ad, getting approval etc...but any job you go into will have it's grunt work, and it's best to find one that you can enjoy on the really good days and only kind of dislike on the really bad days.

Anyway, I suggest reading a book called "Hey Whipple Squeeze This" by Luke Sullivan. It's funny, and has some great insights into the industry.

As for how much, check out something like monster.com, or other career site and look at the resources for salary surveys. They are typically good and targeted to your market.

Exciting is a matter of perspective. I have seen good people make boring things fun. At the start, you may have to seek out more than what is given in order to learn and be excited. This will take you well beyond the 9-5 (or 7 -7) day. But it can make it more fun than the normal routine, and be more rewarding financially in the long run.

if your blog has a wide variety of audience and a large number of "subscribers" daily then it is very likely that they will contact you for advertising on your page. you don't necessary have to contact them.. cuz if there's a certain amount of traffic in your page,, they'll be the ones who contact you. but you could try being the one contacting them too to see if they're interested. but they'll have to see how many people read your page daily and stuff like that..
